Miriam restaurant provides a popular, fast paced, and delicious brunch menu on the weekend in an atmosphere that is suitable for couples, groups, and kids alike. The dinner is more intimate and relaxed. Miriam offers a happy hour special at the bar on Monday - Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00pm, which provides 2 for 1 Mezes, Wine, and Beer. Miriam also has Early Bird Special, Monday - Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00pm, a 25% discount on your meal. At Miriam Restaurant the cuisine is uniquely, distinctly Israeli. Yet what exactly is Israeli Cuisine? To enter the subject is not unlike entering a sea by foot and feeling a sudden deepening. Unlike French food, Chinese food, Italian food, one does not unfold the menu at Miriam with a set of associations firm in the mind. There exist no single dish, no single style of preparation that one might call uniquely Israeli. And yet this lack of identity is its identity, its beauty.

"Server brought the wrong soup, then when it was exchanged, I found I had no spoon. By the time I flagged down the waiter (not easy, even though the restaurant as not busy) and got a spoon, the soup was cold. It came out of the kitchen lukewarm at best. Pastrami was at least half fat. Salad dressing (pomegranate vinegrette) tasted like cherry syrup - far too sweet. There were no croutons on the salad, despite the waiter telling me there would be. The whole meal was disappointing, and much of it was inedible."

Sette is Italian for seven, the traditional "lucky" number. The restaurant design is comfortable with a traditional Italian tone, and with a great "feel and flow." Sette Osteria is a destination place for people as well as a place for people walking in the area to come in and enjoy.

Decor: Sette Osteria has an open kitchen and an action station viewable by guests. Pizzas are cooked in a wood-burning pizza oven.

The best decor in a restaurant is people. Windows give guests a view of the active passing scenes on busy Connecticut Avenue and R Streets. And, people walking by are able to view a very inviting and appealing restaurant. The decor is soft and appealing but still carries a theme of sophisticated Italian culture and international buzz. Guests can view the young people going in and out of the chic clothing stores G-star and Emporium 2050.
