"Had a Friday 5:30 seating; service was excellent and professional. Menu items range from steaks, seafood, and vegetarian, with unique twists. Both meals were cooked to perfection, including the accompanying dishes. Pricey, but generous portions and good ingredients. Excellent wine list, and inventive dessert menu. Try to get a booth: the tables are a little "cafe" looking and there are quite a few of them in the open floor sections, so they are not the most romantic. Maybe if they removed a couple of the tables, or separated them with decor items (plants, screens), or even used white tablecloths..."

"S&S is a longstanding high quality downtown Anchorage institution on a bluff overlooking Cook Inlet. My husband, college-aged daughter and I dined on New Year's Eve and the restaurant was very busy, but not wildly so, with other guests in about the same age range as us. We were very pleasantly greeted, and shown to our table right away. Our waiter was highly knowledgeable about all items on the menu and was attentive, but not hovering, throughout the meal. Ordered the fresh oysters, a halibut combo plate, petite prime rib, and molten chocolate cake. Hubby had the house red, and I had a delicious pomegranate martini. Food and beverages were outstanding in portion, flavor, and preparation, even tho it was busy. Prices are on the high side."
