"We went specifically for their famous American Burger because it was mentioned in a published foodie article. My burger, while tasty was overdone, well done. The restaurant says they cook to medium temperature. It came with a small mixed green salad. Quite pricey for what was served.
It's quiet at lunch. I'm sure the volume goes up after dark. Service was attentive and friendly.
I won't go back because of the price. This review is not to say you shouldn't give them a try.
P.S. There should be a choice of 'maybe' for the review question regarding recommending a place to others."

ChouChou (pronounced "shoo-shoo") strives to bring the spirit of Paris to Forest Hill. The casually elegant bistro showcases rustic Old World cooking with a modern French twist, paired with a thoughtful wine list. Chef Michaels invites you to experience the warm personalized service that is ChouChou. Bon Appetit!

"Another wonderful dining experience in an unexpected location. there are no other restaurants with the same caliber of cuisine and service nearby. Chou Chou is right next to the Forest Hill Muni station.
Service is efficient and gracious. it's a small restaurant where tables are very close together. There is a bit more privacy on the second floor which overlooks the dining room. I would choose that area during dinner because it's not as noisy.
Have not had a bad meal in 9 visits. That includes brunch, lunch and dinner. So far, n favorite dishes. It's hard to resist the baguettes that come with the meal."
