Since its doors opened in 1988, Gianni Delisi’s family-run Italian trattoria has flourished as a mainstay on the Chicago restaurant scene. Trattoria Gianni's menu features a diverse selection of regional Italian cuisine, augmented with superb daily specials and an array of delectable desserts to delight your palate. Gianni's boasts an extensive wine list, a full bar and a special selection of grappas. The restaurant has been awarded 3 stars from the Chicago Tribune, 3 1/2 stars from the Chicago Sun Times and has consistently received excellent ratings from Zagats. <br />Located in the heart of the Lincoln Park theatre district -- directly across the street from Steppenwolf theatre and a few doors north of The Royal George -- Trattoria Gianni's has long been a dining destination for theatergoers before and after the shows.

Step back in time to when going out for dinner meant something really special. From the decor to the jazz music, Wildfire has the style and warmth that makes it perfect for celebrating with friends or a quiet evening for two. The extensive menu features broiled steaks and chops, wood-roasted seafood and roasted meats, all prepared in an open kitchen. Signature dishes include Horseradish Crusted Filet Mignon, Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut, Wildfire Chopped Salad and Cedar Planked Salmon. Francesca’s on Chestnut located on Chestnut Street in Chicago’s famous Gold Coast neighborhood. Located in the Seneca Boutique Apartments, the restaurant will bring its famous rustic, Italian cuisine to the 180-seat space. <br /><br />“We’re so excited to return to our roots and open another Chicago neighborhood spot,” says Francesca’s Restaurants owner Scott Harris. “We opened our first location on Clark Street in Lakeview over 15 years ago, and it’s very fitting that our 20th location should be in the Gold Coast.”<br />Francesca’s on Chestnut features an intimate trattoria setting with an antique Brunswick bar and a 40-person private dining room, complete with a private fireplace. Chef Martin Ontiveros will lead the kitchen, providing Francesca’s classic fare of zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. The wine list and specialty drinks are equally impressive in this one-of-a-kind location.

"The food and service were excellent. Prices seemed high. We went on an 8pm reservation on Christmas eve to enjoy this special holiday - and were rushed throughout the meal because "the help needs to leave." They should have asked us to come earlier or refused the 8pm reservation. When we mentioned this to the owner-manager he seemed not to care. "We always close at 9pm". This strongly negated the good will from other visits to Terra."

"Consistently excellent Barbeque, ribs, chicken, pork chops. Delicious au gratin potatoes. Pleasant casual atmosphere. Sports on TV (without sound) if you want it. Long standing tradition. Very consistent. A fine family experience or, if preferred, an adult dining opportunity. I rate it an A!"
