The Franklin Room is a proper city tavern located in Chicago's popular River North neighborhood.

The Franklin Room celebrates the drinking culture and sense of connection that neighborhood taverns have cultivated in our city for centuries. Our menu features comforting and flavorful turn-of-the-century inspired American tavern fare. The Franklin Room beverage program showcases a thoughtful selection of fine spirits, wine and beer with a strong focus on independent distillers and limited edition, rare releases.
"We went three girls on a Friday night for dinner and it was great. The Jitterbug perfume drink was my fave!! And the Sav Blanc wine was also awesome. The Fried park cauliflower bites were also great to start with and share. The squid ink pasta was good too.... we also had the shrimp cakes were I dod not like. Too chewy. The mussels- also great to share but I would ask for extra bread to soak up that amazing bourbon miso sauce! mmmmm :)"

"Went for brunch on a Saturday. The service here was fantastic and very calm and the staff were not all over you which we love!! The burger is good and the chips and sauce that come with it were great too. The coffee bacon tastes nothing like coffee so it was basically just really crispy thick cut bacon. The poached shrimp and avocado toast was good but on the lighter side. Great coffee and juices... Maybe we will try for dinner."

"But the food is NOT good... we have the pink spring roll and it was not good... we ate it, but I won't order it again. The Spicy Tuna roll was also not good. Was so boring and tasted overcooked which is odd for sushi... the house salads and edamame were great and the wine... but how can you mess that up? ;)"

"We loved the food here... the ambiance is a bit odd though and not busy which is weird bc we thought the food was so good!!! The Enchiladas were incredible (we ordered a second just to have more) between two if us! And the duck waffles were also awesome. We will be back and I have been telling people to go here!"

"The wait staff are attentive and brilliant. The foo is superb and we even corked the wine and took it home no problem! The oysters were fantastic!! The west coast were better than the east in our opinion. Christina was a fabulous and very honest and fun waitress! She's great. She gave us the perfect recommendations. We got the duchess cut filet and they sliced it for us which was great, and then the SHORTRIB STROGANOFF! WOW. My favorite! I will be back to try more items and more than likely get the stroganoff every time! :) MMMMMM"

"This place is HUGE and the food is retry good actually but I expected a little more vibrant vibe on a Saturday at noon... The carrot soup was great, and the grilled chicken kale salad was good... but nothing special. Was good."

The Brass Monkey is an artful fusion of refined brasserie dishes and ‘70s American comfort food, deliciously enhanced. Executive Chef Ryan Wombacher seamlessly pairs traditional brasserie dishes like Veggie Cassoulet, Steak Frites and Roasted Amish Chicken alongside lighter, fun fare. A special “Hits of the ‘70s” menu focuses on ‘70s-inspired comfort food items. Swedish Meatballs and Bologna Sliders are given a contemporary twist, while bringing to mind the feeling of being served from your aunt’s kitchen. Pork Chops & Apple Sauce, French Bread Pizzas and a TV Dinner are featured items. Cocktails are also ‘70s-inspired, including a classic Harvey Wallbanger, Singapore Swing and vodka “Tang”. Pineapple Upside Down Cake, S’Mores and Jello are dessert highlights.
The menu is complemented by authentic ‘70s décor elements, including a vinyl room featuring favorites of the ‘70s and some surprise B-sides for your listening pleasure.
"We went here on a Saturday before seeing Book of Mormon and it was perfect! The wares was attentive to our timing and cool with us having wine and apps and then heading out. The wine was great, noise level was vibrant and the brussel sprouts were AWESOME. The calamari was goo, a different twist on it- spanish. Try them! The music is superb!
We will be back and sit at the bar- very cool bar."

"We went here and had a nice table with a view of Oak street and downtown. I can't wait for the patio seating to open this summer! The mimosas were great and the service was too! We had the salmon and chicken milanese and homemade pasta. Was all really tasty! The pea soup and chicken soup and beet salad were fresh and great starters individually. We will be back."
