From the moment you enter, tones of old world yellows, stone fireplaces, wrought iron cellar gates and sconces, soft candlelight, coves with upholstered sofa seating and friendly staff, it's an undeniable inviting space, nothing short of extraordinary. Two special occasion tables with antique throne chairs and live piano music add to the intimacy. Two romantic dining rooms cater to an elegant crowd, while the long narrow bar gathers a friendly and fun bunch nightly.

The cuisine truly upholds the name of Fine Portuguese/Spanish Dining, seafood and fish, organic meats, the freshest ingredients and to maintain the tradition, huge portions are to be expected. The menu is seasonal and in addition to a varied selection of delectable dishes to satisfy any palette, daily specials are always featured. The wine list with over 180 selections is an ambitious one that keeps growing, but sure not to disappoint the discriminating connoisseur.

"The last visit was my least favorite. It was a saturday night right after New Years...
I usually go with the fish... I had the porter house... Its not a steak house... so I should have known to go with the traditional portuguese food... of fish... We sat in a booth and they need to place a light. I think they were a anniversary party going on... and there was a table of about 16 across from us...
I will give them another shot...
My guest loved her scallop special... Mine was a porter house special...
The cheese cake... was not worth it... and they did comp us for it...
Loved the sangria... I loved the first 2 times...
I think I should stay with Paella...

"I have been here on several occasions... and I have to say, that I think they are finally getting their act together. I think the menu has to be changed up a little more often. It would be nice to get a steak and not have to worry about a wine demi-glaze or it wrapped in bacon or have pork belly in the mashed potato.
The ambience is always great, It wasnt very busy on this Friday night after Christmas... and I finally had a waiter named "Katrina" who was pleasant and wanted to please instead of me being a bother. I have people who couldnt tell me what was in the specials, or who I couldnt understand.
I have had waiters that were dressed the same as if I were eating in a Fast food restaurant and a little disheveled. This is a classy restaurant and the waiters are finally becoming classy.
I had the halibut... after sharing an apple zuchini salad... Both were great... My partner had scallops... which also were great...
If I were assured to get "Katrina" I would go there again... She was pleasand engaging... and just a cute person to deal with....
I think they need to get a night with some Latin Dancing in their back room... and let the Mojitos flow... Its the perfect place.... to eat and then dance off those calories...

"Dinner at this jewel-like restaurant has been described as the “ultimate level of culinary enlightenment” stated the Asbury Park Press. Serenade serves contemporary French cuisine created by the collaborated efforts of James and Nancy Laird. Come visit this beautiful restaurant located in the picturesque town of Chatham, New Jersey."

"I think its a great place a little pricey, but the food is consistently good. Great place for the ambiance. I like to come here when it snows or christmas time with the fireplace and the christmas lights or to watch the snow fall thru the large windows.
I am glad I dont drink. Price fix 69 per person... So it better be good...
