Guardado's serves up authentic, flavorful dishes from Spain and Latin America, in a casual and inviting atmosphere, in the heart of Bethesda, Maryland. We now offer Brunch on Sundays

Chef Nicolas Guardado and his wife Reyna opened Guardado's Restaurant in 2007. Guardado brought with him a wealth of experience, rising through the ranks at local-area tapas restaurant Jaleo to a seasoned head chef.

Now, he is infusing that knowledge into his own restaurant, as well as adding some popular Latin American entrees and some traditional dishes from his native Salvadorean background to Guardado's extensive menu.

"...it's very good. When it's not is another story for another time. The reservation was honored on time with prompt seating. That evening our party had raw oysters, barbecue shrimp, Ipswich clams, mussels in wine, steamed clams and a crab cake sandwich.
The timing of the dishes was excellent and the steamed or fried items arrived piping hot. Particularly notable were the fried Ipswich clams and the crab cake. We have had them many times and they are always excellent. The mussels and steamed clams come with plenty of toasted bread for dipping in the broths.
When Ben is running the house and Rachel is your server, a great meal can almost be guaranteed."

Open Tuesday thru Sunday at 5pm for dinner
We are a small, quaint steakhouse, so trying to accommodate tables over 6 guests on weekends becomes a challenge...however, it is a challenge that we are up to! Please make the reservation on line and leave a message in the reservation notes with the actual time and size of your group, as well as direct contact information, and we will contact you directly with our availability.

"Theo's is consistently good and the menu has been updated for the summer. We have dined there many times over the years. Most times it has been very good; sometimes at worst, it is just good. Can't beat a steak with hand-cut fries as the default order."

This cozy French Restaurant serves only the finest and freshest ingredients each time it prepares a unforgettable meal. A charming spot tucked away in Arlington East Falls Church will not disappoint you. French dining which is not pretentious or expensive, La Cote d"Or works for a quiet romantic evening or a casual week night meal. Owners Lynne and Raymond Campet, always present, take care to ensure that your dining experience is a good one.

"We were a party of four who were out for a lovely evening of food and conversation and we could not have picked a better spot than La Cote D'Or. The ambience in the dining room was lovely and the service was totally professional without being intrusive. The food is classic French and not for those who like tofu and bean sprouts. I have a certain weakness for cassoulet, which the kitchen did to perfection and the presentation of the dish at table side enhanced the enjoyment. An appetizer of duck rillette was some of the best calories I ever ate. The suggestions of wine to accompany the dinner were very thoughtful and thoroughly enjoyed. The desserts were petite classics. The evening was well worth the drive from Bethesda."

"We dine there almost weekly and lately they are not at the top of their game. A dozen oysters, served so cold that they were just short of frozen. were presented with the usual dreaded cocktail sauce, and a mignonette that was as thick as catsup and tasted like barbecue sauce. No lemon was present on the plate. The mignonette was sent back, but the kitchen couldn't send out a classic vinegar, pepper and shallots mignonette that evening. Who knows why. Otherwise the whole evening was spent hunting for one's server, asking for missing silverware or forgotten items in the table setup, i.e. their "bread plate". On a positive note, the manager that evening, Ben, addressed the problems promptly and helped greatly with the meal."

"I have dined there many times and only once have I had a less than satisfactory dining experience. The seafood is fresh and prepared well. The choice of oysters alone is enough to make me return. The fried Ipswitch clams are also consistently good, as is the rockfish when available.
The service staff is young and seems well versed in the kitchen preparations. Service is not fussy nor is one ignored; they seem to have it just right. In summary, a insistently good restaurant and bar."

MIX Bar and Grille opened in September 2013 to huge crowds and rave reviews. Mix has quickly become the Potomac spot, a bar and American bistro offering unique drinks, unbelievable food, and an urban atmosphere in the heart of The Village.

"New menu befits a trendy bistro with a good assortment of both hot and cold appetizers/small plates and a variety of dinner selections. The wine list (by the bottle) is extensive and wine is also available by the glass from the house selections. Prices for both the food and liquor were reasonable. The service staff were young and energetic and there were no complaints about the presentation or timing of the various components to our meal.
The bar is very long and stylish, but avoid the Parisian-like tables and chairs in the very front of the restaurant. They may well be the most uncomfortable seating in all of Montgomery County."
