Brought to you by the Owner of Chola, Dhaba and Chote Nawab, Kokum re-invents South Indian food, showcasing the flavors of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in its authentic preparations and dishes. Named after a tamarind like souring agent, Kokum presents South Indian food in a sophistisated and contemporary environment with dishes that go beyond just the standard fare of dosas and sambhar. Besides an extensive wine and beer list, Kokum also features a cocktail list that uses unusual flavor combinations from Kerala and the Southern India.

Enjoy spectacular dining in The Lobby, which was recently awarded a perfect Five Star review by Time Out Chicago Food Editor David Tamarkin. Experience a memorable dinner featuring incredible dishes in a contemporary yet approachable American style, complemented by live music. Traditional Afternoon Tea is served daily, while the weekend offers a fabulous Sunday brunch accompanied by a vivacious string quartet, together with the delectable "Chocolate Bar". Children’s menus are available with a variety of offerings.

"We went for the Chinese breakfast prix fixe menu. Food was definitely five stars, the lobster congee was delicious, the dumplings sublime and these were serious standouts, the other items were very good. Service started out a bit oddly, our waiter seemed not to understand that we were asking what the difference between the two teas served were. This was quickly worked out. Also, our glasses seemed to have collected some dust and switching them out didn't completely rectify the situation. Luckily the teas were exceptional! The service from then on was flawless. The room is lovely, but a bubblegum colored stain the size of napkin by the piano and another odd stain on the carpet by the next table did distract from the ambiance."

wd~50 offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The restaurant is open for dinner five nights a week from 6pm to 10pm, and offers two tasting menus: twelve courses for $155, and five courses for $90 featuring classic dishes from past menus. Bar diners can enjoy either tasting menu or select two courses from the menus (sweet or savory items) for $25; additional courses can be added for $15 per course. We no longer offer an a la carte menu. Wylie Dufresne, Sous Chef Sam Henderson and Pastry Chef Malcolm Livingston II serve modern American cuisine renowned for its flavor, sophistication, and innovation. The dining room seats 70 and the private dining room 14 people. wd~50 has a Michelin star and in March of 2008 was awarded three stars by Frank Bruni of the New York Times.

"The view is beautiful. Service was excellent. Went there for brunch and the food was pleasant, but average and the menu is not as interesting as the price would warrant. I had the "Healthy" eggs benedict, eggs were perfectly poached, but the avocado and avocado sauce, through green, had been preserved with something like vinegar, so it lacked the taste of fresh and felt a bit preserved. Home fries were soft, but for a soft homestyle home fries were very greasy (nothing was crisp and oil did pool a bit on the plate). This was true for all the dishes with home fries. The bright spot was our dining companions chorizo dish, though it was still very oily."
