"We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant. The menu was so interesting, but turned out pedestrian and therefore overpriced. Jasmine rice in the mackarel dish was terrible- mushy yet dry, poor quality. The grass-fed was overcooked (ordered medium-rare) and therefore really dry.
Service was poor:
Made a reservation, yet clear if we had not arrived 10 min early, they would have seated the group that came in after us who also had a reservation or the group after them without. Our reservation was w/in the 1st 15 min they opened and we would have had to wait at least 45 minutes to an hour before they had a table as the two groups after us did.
Service was slow, two waitresses for the restaurant. Hostess did nothing to help.

Thank you for choosing a top Zagat rated, very popular, Michelin star Italian restaurant in New York, Trattoria L'incontro. It will be an honor and pleasure having you as our guest in our establishment where customers enjoy superb meals prepared by chef and owner Rocco Sacramone and are treated as kings and queens.
