There is no denying Panache's elegance. The walls are done in a soft shade of wheat, the bar is long and sleek and bouquets of flowers dot the dining room. The dining room chairs are bright yellow, 1950s style lounge artwork hangs on the walls and some weekend nights, the line to get in stretches down the block. It's a jolt of energy across the street from the quiet Mayflower Hotel. Panache serves a range of small plates that make up a gustatory tour of Europe and beyond. Diners can also order one of the larger plates, which include seared Ahi Tuna with a Mango Salsa and Rack of Lamb with Pommery Mustard and Whipped Potatoes. A Three course menu is offered nightly for $35. Additional features are added every week for lunch.

Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

"Love Le Diplomate! CAnt always get a table when you want one, but once you do the experience is always a great one. My latest visit was just a table for one, not fun, but dining here helps to make up for that. From the drinks, to the shrimp cocktail to the beef bourguigon, all was fantastic. The ONLY issue I had, and its really a fairly minor one to be honest - was my table placement. I had a table (for one) right next to a divider that the staff uses to go into and out of the kitchen (I presume). Some staff seem to like to knock on that divider. When you are sitting right there, getting a knock can be a bit disconcerting! It didn't happen often, just enough to be memorable in the wrong way. Won't keep me from coming back!"

"Always worry when going to a place this is close to closing time, but FF didn't make me feel that way at all. Seated, order taken, food prepared and delivered as if closing was still hours away. No rushing! And the food tasted as great as if it wasn't time for the kitchen to close as well. Fried green tomatoes, bacon lollipops (what a concept!), and chicken and waffles, great way to close out the day!"

"Been here before, and liked it. Had to go up a very long windy set of stairs to get to our table, ok. Service once up there was spotty at times. Had to request refills, several times. Food was served fresh and hot and when one dish was incorrect, it was quickly replaced with the right one."

Perched a top the intersection of 14th and U Streets, Lost Society offers food, drink, and a killer view from its roof deck. The kitchen, run by Executive Chef Joseph Evans, serves up dishes that do justice to the restaurant's qualification as a 'boutique steakhouse.' Steak selections, in addition to other meat, fish, and vegetarian entrée options, render Lost Society an excellent destination for even the pickiest eaters. The bars (there are four) feature wine, beer, and cocktail options that complement a meal, a night on the town, or both.

"Nothing bad to say at all, its about our sixth visit to this local special spot! Our server took great care of us and the drink specials were very unique, flavorful and strong enough! The dinner special was great and huge, had to take half of it home and it made for a great follow up meal the next day! And we topped it off with our favorite bread pudding desert - as in, its nothing like other places nasty stuff - here is a fluffy, high quality very tasty wonderful from bite to bite only to miss it once its gone!"

Bobby Van’s Grill marks the return of the powerful New York City chop shop to the downtown D.C. area but with a new twist. This eclectic New American Steakhouse now boasts a slightly more casual family friendly atmosphere as well as catering to the Washington politician. This 536-seat D.C. destination is fully loaded! There’s four private, intimate and upscale dining rooms with their own bar and bar services. Two 40-foot long bars can be found with friendly bartenders serving strong drinks and even stronger conversations. The main dining room boasts views of both New York Avenue and the plush marble atrium of the adjoining building amidst its beautiful water fountain. This is an ideal place to meet for power lunches, family gatherings and late night dinners in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

"We visit this location frequently. Have always enjoyed the food and the service. Today's visit was made even better by a very attentive server! Helped make different choices. There was an item on the appetizer menu that I thought sounded like the perfect entrée to me, the scallops. He helped me order it as my dinner and it was not a mistake! Perfect portion size, tender and extremely well prepared. The flavor of the sauces was wonderful. He found out that we always order the same desert and its one of the primary reasons we go there, and when presented with the check the apple tart was free! Now that gives me great reasons for loving Bobby Vans Grill."

"As always, a great experience, started off just right with a server who not only remembered us from previous visits, but also some of our favorites. Attentive and helpful, food was great, especially the calamari. The main entree's were very good such as the veal tbone and the crab cakes."

Mediterranean bounty, beauty and modernity. All around the Eastern Mediterranean, “meze” (pronounced “MEH-zay”) are small dishes designed to complement a beverage, tease the tastebuds, and encourage diners to linger around the table for good companionship & conversation. On behalf of the owners and staff at Meze, we extend our heartfelt welcome and encourage you to eat, drink, and relax in the Turkish way of having a good time and enjoying life.<br />We have a great patio.

"Honest, I sometimes buy Groupons and Living Social as its a great way to try something I havent. This was one of those. Im not sure that the food was my favorite type. But, having said that, the food was actually pretty darn surprising and good. Probably a 5, but since it wasny my favorite types of food, wasnt sure! You should try it. Loved the weather and sitting on the sidewalk patio!"
