VOLT offers guests a menu of modern American cuisine. “The focus of our cuisine is based on classic flavor combinations, creating sophisticated dishes that emphasize purity and seasonal flavors that are based on fundamental and innovative cooking techniques.” said Voltaggio. VOLT’s relationship with local artisan farmers ensures availability of products to fulfill the philosophy behind the menu, in a refined, historic venue where classic meets modern. By design, the restaurant follows along the original footprint of the mansions first floor parlors. Both the 38 seat main dining room and the bar/lounge open off the foyer. The original mosaic tile in the foyer was the inspiration behind the warm monochromatic color pallet that adorns the finishes in VOLT. Private dining can be hosted in the conservatory offering views of the expansive courtyard. The 700 square foot kitchen afforded space to include up to 20 guests.

"I just want to throw this out there first- it's not clear on the website menu but you basically have the choice of the roughly $100 Chef's menu or to pick your own Chef's menu al la carte. The Menu makes it look like you can just order an entree for $30- but that's actually a tasting plate... so you really can't get out of there without spending a min. of $100/person. However- the food was FABULOUS. Everything was seasoned well and executed flawlessly. It is totally worth the money for a special occasion and the service was impeccable! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a foodie experience for a special night out. Also their scotch and wine lists were pretty extensive."

"Definitely need a reservation- we had one and we were seated pretty much right away but there was a gentleman at the host stand when we arrived who was complaining he'd been waiting 2 hours! The Brunch Buffet was pretty good- was a little difficult going up and down the stairs to go outside but the food was overall pretty good. The scrambled eggs and desserts were not so great but their grits and jalapeno sausage gravy was awesome! Wish they had bottomless drinks though :("

All menu items at Lavagna are prepared from scratch, including our pasta. The menu changes weekly as well as seasonally so it can feature only the freshest local ingredients. Lavagna is expanding the house-made charcuterie program and is adding a line of house-made local preserves, with offerings varying week to week. Lavagna also offers a variety of Italian wines, beers from around the world and distinctive craft cocktails.

"This is one of my friend's favorites in the area and is also a scratch kitchen- so maybe my expectations were too high but I thought the food was so-so. My eggs were not cooked correctly, I ordered them poached and they came out in "puddle like form." Also the sausage and potatoes were sort of bland- we had to ask 3 times for condiments to go with the potatoes and toast. Also the service was very slow- I am glad we didn't opt for the bottomless mimosas because we probably would have only gotten (1) the entire 90 minutes that we were there... our server was definitely either slammed or preoccupied because we saw her when she took the order and brought the check and that was about it. Overall though it was cute place and great location!"
