Foodie's Reviews

The name Ursino was inspired by the rich history of the colonial era Liberty Hall Estate (previously called Ursino), located on what is now part of the Kean University campus. The estate boasts a 4.5 acre farm, from which we harvest many of the ingredients used on our menu. Chef Peter Turso and his staff use these ingredients to create a menu that embraces Modern American cuisine. We also support local producers as much as possible; not only in our menu selections, but in our wine, beer and cocktail offerings too.
Our goal is to provide a memorable, quality dining experience for every guest that arrives at our door. With knowledgeable and attentive service, along with expertly prepared food second to none, we aspire to be considered by our guests as one of the top restaurants in New Jersey.

"I'm a bigFarm to Table fan, and although the food was really good, I didn't think they offered a huge variety and I thought it was a bit overpriced. I'm use to paying high prices for special restaurants, especially Farm to Table type of restaurants, but I still think it was overpriced and would probably not go back, as there are other great Farm to Table Restaurants that are not as pricey. Also, the dessert menu was just okay, not that great. They need to offer some simple dishes, not everything has to have tons of different flavors."

"This is the 3rd time I've been to this restaurant within 2 weeks, so you know I liked it to come back again and again. However, this last time I showed up, the service was just horrible - extremely slow. I decided to venture out and not get a fish dish, instead I tried the Pork Tenderloin, it was ok, but not great. The Salmon and trout that I had the first 2 times, much, much better! The flatbreads are wonderful too. They don't have a good kid's menu, as even their regular burger is too fancy for the kids, with fancy cheese and no ketchup on the side, unless you ask. And by the time they brought it over, my kids were so hungry, they finished the burger."
