Cafe Pyrenees is tucked inside the Adler Square Shopping Plaza in Libertyville, IL. Once you step inside you're treated to warm color tones, greenery, a myriad of wine bottles, hearty brick features, and fresh smells of the featured dishes. Customers rave about the mouth watering dessert delight Chocolate Feuilletine, A.k.a. “The Hockey Puck” which is a crispy praline topped with dark chocolate mousse and then covered with dark chocolate ganache. If you aren't ready to start your meal with a dessert customers suggest to begin with a simple order of Escargot drenched in herbed butter or give the Duck Quesadilla a try with it's blended flavors of melted cheese, duck confit and a homemade cherry mango chutney. Some of the traditional entree staples you will find are Steak Frites, Beef Bourguignon, Seafood Ravioli filled with shrimp, scallops, crab meat and lobster sauce, Chicken Paillarde and Sauteed Calves Liver. Weekly drink specials Wild Wine Wednesday, 1/2 price Martini Fridays!

"food was delicious. i was very disappointed in the menu because so many meals were served with pasta and i am dieting. i asked if there was an alternative to the pasta and they offered a vegetable medley sauteed or grilled. i chose grilled and expected a small side order of warmed over vegetables. what i received was a plate of FRESHLY grilled vegetables that was as big as my entree. the vegetables on the plate had to cost the restaurant at least ten times what a serving of pasta would cost, but there was no up charge. i did not care for the decor at all, although my partner felt it was fine. that was the only negative in my eyes. my girlfriend had rack of lamb which was delicious and a very generous portion. i had a shrimp, clam combo in a delicious sauce. we also had a grilled calamari appetizer that was terrific. everything was great, the servings were large, and the prices were very reasonable. i will definitely go back. a great place."
