"First time. Chose for an occasion based on reviews. Not up to expectations . . . Ambience - country bistros are typically intimate, atmospheric places; this is a big open sea of white table cloths in formal, almost institutional, white room. With well-to-do much older crowd, felt more like the dining hall of a retirement community in Boca. Service - knowledgeable, professional, efficient and unobtrusive; but stiff and cool. Food - very uneven. Hard tasteless bread, nice tapenade; great carpaccio, horrible lamb dish, overdone pork; die-for chocolate cake, bland but "technical" apple tart. Noise -contrary to other reviews, not an issue despite full-house; tables far enough apart to hear companions but not clearly overhear other tables."

Cafe Lucci’s motto, “Good Food, Good Wine, Good People,” is the distinguishing hallmark of this North Shore family-owned and operated restaurant, which is a favorite for neighborhood regulars, including many executives and professionals who hail from nearby corporations and businesses. Cafe Lucci also is a weekend and special-occasion destination for many folks who live in Chicago and have discovered an exceptional dining experience in Glenview.

"Wish it was closer to my neighborhood; I'd be back weekly! Everything we had was absolutely delicious, including the complementary bread with toppings. This is not some old school Italian restaurant where all the dishes taste like a small variation on the the same sauce. Each dish we had was unique in its flavor profile, and beautifully prepared. Homemade pasta some of the best I've had; and how often do you get scallops in a pasta sauce that are good enough to stand alone as a dish? Traditional old-world service was professional and spot-on, but still warm and welcoming. Ambience only misses a little from the exterior appearance of the building/area; the interior is very classy and in keeping with the entire experience."

The exciting, new restaurant in Barrington. The yin and yang of food and ambiance creating a whole new trend in Asian cuisine. pl8 offers a fresh, imaginative menu of classic Chinese cuisine side by side with Japanese kitchen creations and sushi. pl8 is where you will find a chic city restaurant located in the suburbs. Where you'll find superd et unpretentious service. A menu that is sweet and savory. Classic dished with a smart twist that are 'simply Asian'. We can't wait for you to experience the best of Asian cuisine coming together on one pl8.

"Up til now we've had good meals and service at PL8 before, but on this particular night we had neither. The servers were harried and confused, or disengaged. The dishes we've enjoyed in the past were all "off" in one way or another (too greasy, too warm when they should have been served chilled, etc.), and a new dish to us (scallops) was so salty it was inedible. Won't be in a hurry to go back this time."
