The first Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, Grunts still exudes the funky, devil-may-care lifestyle of the 70s in its style, décor, music, and menu. Happily for all of us, the best eating of that day continues to be some of the best today. <br /><br />While there"s a huge menu that's as much fun to eat your way through as it is to read, many of Grunts' old favorites spark return visits. The burgers are arguably the best in town. The salad bar boasts more than 50 ingredients daily. Giant malts and milkshakes are hand scooped and come in a rainbow of favors. Oh! Don't forget the barbecued baby back ribs and pulled pork sandwiches!

"We frequented RJG's yrs ago. Went back after LPZoo as locale & casual vibe are perfect for that. But table placement is ridiculous, esp in the back center, which can only be termed a "death trap." I was literally stuck in my chair between a post, another table and a chair at a 3rd table. Were exiled there after checking in early for reservation;then food was so slow server offered free salad bar. Of course food came just as we got to the SB (but food was delicious, esp burgers.) Top it off with reporting us as "no show" to OpenTable and it's doubtful we'll ever go back. But we'll surely refuse to sit at those awful tables if we do -- and you should, too."

Dine at natural reclaimed wood tables with seating for 175, surrounded by inviting darker woods, exposed brick and beams, subtle filament lighting, and accented with muted chocolate and caramel tones throughout.

"More a 3.5? Jammed at 7:30 Sat; barely get near valet or check-in. Unpleasant hosts work line of 15 people deep. Bartender gives old wine list,out of our choice, made excuses (' tho list at table was right.) Seated on time for 7:45;happy for booth in back, as room is cavernous and packed esp in the center. Deafening in places, but could chat ok at our seats. Sit a long time w/only wine we brought from bar, server is busy. Try just to ask restroom directions but she blows by with "I'll be right back", taking 5 mins. Service improves as crowd thins, but menu input was off base -"spicy" wasn't, mild was hotter, etc. Food a bit uneven, ranging excellent to ok, but fairly priced as is wine. Impressive decor; had a fun time despite flaws."
