Le Colonial transports guests to another time and place, vividly recapturing the beauty, romance and spirit of 1920's French-Colonial Southeast Asia. Le Colonial invigorates the senses with exquisite décor and savory authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The first floor dining room is adorned with louvered shutters, woven rattan chairs, potted palms, slow-moving ceiling fans and nostalgic black and white photos of turn-of-the century life in Saigon. The upstairs lounge includes a spacious, fully stocked mahogany bar, plush couches for enjoying light fare, and a veranda, for keeping warm in winter and cool in summer. Complete with unique, delicately prepared Vietnamese cuisine, Le Colonial is the perfect setting for an after-work social or a romantic evening for two.

"Le Colonial has gotten very high marks by reviewers, and for the most part they are deserved. Our food was really delicious (as was the guava daiguiri and café au lait), although the duck was actually bad. The by the glass wine list is varied and well paired to the menu, but choices could have used some description. The décor is lovely, evocative and romantic, although it loses something because the room is small, close and loud when crowded. The service was efficient and helpful, but not warm and inviting. So many reasons to recommend it. So many reasons to go back. But maybe not enough reasons to consider it a top dining experience in Chicago."

The exciting, new restaurant in Barrington. The yin and yang of food and ambiance creating a whole new trend in Asian cuisine. pl8 offers a fresh, imaginative menu of classic Chinese cuisine side by side with Japanese kitchen creations and sushi. pl8 is where you will find a chic city restaurant located in the suburbs. Where you'll find superd et unpretentious service. A menu that is sweet and savory. Classic dished with a smart twist that are 'simply Asian'. We can't wait for you to experience the best of Asian cuisine coming together on one pl8.

"Our party of 6 had a great evening at PL8. We've looked for years for a place close by that does a good job with a melded Asian menu in a comfortable and attractive setting, and finally found it. Our server was casual, friendly and very attentive -- just the right tone for this spot -- and he guided our eclectic group through the menu very well. Everything we ordered, from starters, the soup (the special shared pot is terrific), each entrée (easily shared) and the desserts, tasted fresh and special. Members of our group noted how every dish had it's distinct flavors, setting it apart from every other one we tried -- which is often not the case with dining in this type of cuisine. We all left satisfied, happy campers and will be back soon."
