Since 1999, Madiba Restaurant has offered a unique South African experience, the first of it"s kind in the United States. The restaurant is more than the food- join us to witness love, enjoy libations, and the feeling of "Ubuntu"- "humanity" in the Xhosa language.

Fashioned in the style of a "Shebeen," Madiba offers refuge and relief to neighbors and travelers, friends and strangers alike. Come and see for yourself.

"We enjoyed our visit to Madiba very much! The menu was varied and I enjoyed the Lambchops while my husband had a vegetarian dish. I loved the accompaniments. But the highlight was the bread pudding - so awesome! Wine selection was reasonable and good as well. It' crowded and the tables are a tight fit but its a fun place to spend an evening!"

A cool Mediterranean retreat from the city's chaos, with fabric-swathed ceilings and pristine white furnishings. Even on a hectic night, service is calm and competent, and the professional couples at most of the tables seem to be speaking in peaceful whispers. The kitchen offers scintillating versions of hearty, refreshing Greek favorites. Souvlaki is charcoal-grilled and up scaled with filet mignon to produce an impressively tender, succulent result. Wine-marinated octopus legs are also charcoal-grilled, resulting in astounding flavor and not a hint of rubberness. Classics like garlicky skordalia, fava beans, sauteed chicken livers over lentils, and spanakopita are all best-of-breed versions, the latter prepared as a platter of bite-sized pies. A sizeable portion of moussaka, consisting of layers of juicy ground lamb and eggplant, tied together by a superlative béchamel. For dessert, the array of delicate pastries and the deeply creamy rice pudding are excellent without exception.

Osteria Morini - New York is a authentic rustic Italian restaurant by acclaimed and award winning Chef Michael White and the Altamarea Group. In Italian, “osteria” means a place where the owner “hosts” guests, and at Osteria Morini - New York Chef White continues this tradition of hospitality, transforming his first downtown restaurant into an authentic, old-world osteria with soulful food from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.

"An enjoyable dinner. Great fixed price meal. My only complaint was that it was fairly noisy. Pasta was wonderful. We had the seafood soup as an entree and the broth was wonderful. I loved my appetizer which wAs a rice timbale."

"I'm never disappointed at abc. Ingredients are fresh and prepared with imagination but not in any weird experimental way. Staff is pleasant and efficient. Room is large but not cold or impersonal. Prices are reasonable. What's not to like? Only that it is so difficult to get a reservation."
