Rasika, which is derived from Sanskrit meaning "flavors,” is the award-winning modern Indian restaurant owned by Ashok Bajaj. Leading the kitchen is Group Executive Chef Vikram Sunderam, winner of Best Chef Mid-Atlantic from the James Beard Foundation. Rasika showcases authentic Indian fare prepared on the Tawa (griddle), Sigri (open barbeque), as well as Tandoori and regional dishes. The restaurant is also noted for its international wine list, innovative cocktails and intimate, plush dining room. Rasika West End can accommodate up to 140 guests seated in the main dining room. For private dining, Rasika West End offers three exclusive spaces: The Library, which can seat 40-50 guests, the Garden Room which can accommodate 12-13 guests for dining and the private Chef’s Table Room available for 12-13 guests. A stunning 24-seat lounge is also available for casual dining along with an outdoor patio that can seat 40 guests during the spring and summer months.

"I had been to the Penn Quarter Rasika twice, but this was my first visit to the West End one. Rasika ends up being pricey, because you WANT to indulge in everything, so be prepared to spend about $50 a person when all is said and done. I've never regretted it, though. The palak chaat and the lamb rajasthani are always two clear highlights for me."
