Darbos's Reviews

Jane is a casual American bistro located between Greenwich Village and Soho. Since April 2001, neighborhood regulars and destination diners alike flock to Jane for its value-priced brunch, lunch and dinner menus. Jane also serves as an ideal location for private events, from business dinners to baby showers.

At Jane, the menu showcases an affinity for local ingredients with what New York magazine calls “cleverly tweaked but unpretentious American cuisine.” To complement the food, Jane offers a hand-selected, extensive wine list and seasonally driven cocktails.

Jane is the sister restaurant to The Smith East Village, The Smith Lincoln Center and The Smith Midtown.
"Jane was a last minute dinner reservation. We went there as it is close to Macdougal Street where we were headed afterwards. The chicken dish and the black tagliatelle with squid were great dishes and I highly recommend. The salads are very large and the person order the steak salad was very pleased to find an entire sliced steak under her greens.
Atmophere is cozy. We were seated by the door and there were people walking in and out every minute or so. I had to wear my coat throughout the entire meal as a frigid burst of air froze my everytime the door opened. Service was good but they were clearly short staffed.
I know Jane is well known for its brunch, but I feel that their dinner service stands on its own.
