Located in the heart of downtown Monterey, Montrio Bistro offers a comfortable yet classic dining experience, featuring fine European inspired-American cuisine. For the past 15 years, Chef Baker’s resolve to showcase sustainable seafood, fine quality meat, and Monterey County’s best produce in all of his dishes has made this renovated 1910 firehouse a local favorite. We feature a variety of appetizers, award-winning small bites, enticing entrees, and indulgent seasonal desserts made by our in house pastry chef. Choose from GM Kathy Solley’s extensive wine list, or try one of our signature cocktails by Anthony Vitacca. Montrio’s sophisticated, yet comfortable atmosphere attracts locals and passerbys alike with our great Happy Hour, Dinner and a Movie, and Sunday's Half-Priced Wine Night. Come see what everyone is talking about! Located just half a block from the Monterey Marriott and Conference Center, Montrio Bistro is the ideal venue for private parties, events, or meetings

"We were staying down the block at the Marriot and gave this place a try. The waiter was excellent. The food was great. Excellent all around."

Perhaps the most romantic venue in Southern California, Yamashiro’s unique ambiance of historic tranquility and unparalleled views offer guests a place of serenity high above Los Angeles. Executive chef Brock Kleweno leads a dynamic culinary team in creating Asian-inspired Californian fare. From favorites including American wagyu and truffle hamachi to our newest menu items, such as pistachio salmon, guests experience Hollywood in all of its splendor.

"The servers were nice enough but it seemed like no one knew what they were doing and didn't care. We were a basic party of four. We ordered two appetizers to share and when we ordered entrees, one of us ordered a selection from the appetizer menu as an entree and asked that it be brought as an entrée. The waiter seemed to understand that simple request. It came with the appetizers anyway. When we tried to tell the server that it was early, he left it on the table and walked away. Then when the entrees came later, one was missing. Again, the server walked away when we mentioned we were short an entrée. The waiter said it would be out in a minute. It came more than 5 minutes later with never an explanation or apology from anyone."
