"This was our second try at this restaurant, and repeated our first visit. The food is excellent (and fairly expensive - $35 entrees); but not good enough to overcome the incredible noise (energetic does not begin to describe it) and the poor manner of the maitre'd. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were met by a humorless man with an attitude, who said our table would be ready in a few minutes and directed us to the stand up bar, a tiny affair about four feet from the front door. We were served by an excellent waitress. Because of the ceasless noise, we could not hear her oral listing of the specials, or conduct the most basic conversation at table. Spend your money for a better evening elsewhere."

Zaytinya offers an innovative mezze menu inspired by Turkish, Greek and Lebanese cuisines, under the direction of renowned chef José Andrés, served up in a sleek and modern setting. Shared small plates, creative cocktails and unique Mediterranean wines make this spot one of DC’s top dining destinations.

"Excellent small plates that were large enough to share. A nice addition to the food scene in DC - something new "middle eastern tapas" Service was fine, but we did tend to get lost in the rush on occasion."

"The facility needs a major renovation. We had a reservation made well in advance; but were given a tiny table (amongst many vacant larger ones) that was obviously set there as an afterthought. The table listed about 7 degrees, due to the unveven floor upon which it had been placed. Did I mention that we were practically sitting in the baby grand piano?
Although the menu indicated a certain single malt, they didn't have it - and the bartender indicated they don't sell it. Although the website indicated 1/2 price wines on Sunday, I was told this was no longer in effect.
Food was fine, and the waiter was the one bright spot - Christopher was great!
For the price? I say don't bother."

"This was a unique experience - Mediterranean Tapas! Who knew? I took my staff for lunch on Monday, and enjoyed it so much that I took some out of town friends for lunch on Wednesday. Great choices on the Mezze menu, and excellent food every time. Service was good; but occasionally we got lost in the rush. All in all, I would recommend it for a definite winning change of pace."
