"The dining room at Cypress was simple and elegant, a perfect place to have an anniversary celebration for our daughter and son-in-law. Two of us had the lamb shoulder and two had the pork chops; we shared a dish of fried mac and cheese and a dish of field peas. All of the food was very good, and the portions were generous. The pork chops were twice the size of ones normally served in a restaurant. The lamb shoulder was shredded, made into two good-size square patties and sauted--no knife needed!
We had a nice bottle of Pino Noir with our meal and finished with a piece of molten lava cake and coffee. Delicious! The service was excellent--unobtrusive and not rushed. We enjoyed our dinning experience at Cypress and would return again."

"This was the first booking I have made through Open Table that we were asked to wait for a table. The wait wasn't long though. The food was good. I had eggplant parmigiana and my husband had lasagna. The service was good. The noise level was very high. It is not a place to go for a relaxing meal, but a good place to go for a fairly quick meal that is good."

"The dinner at Fig was soooo good! The fish stew was excellent, lots of seafood in an amazing broth. I just wanted to drink what was left of the broth after eating all the seafood, but proper decorum prevailed. My husband's trigger fish was also excellent. Kevin, our waiter, was very good. He convinced us that a piece of sticky cake dessert was a must. The sorghum flavor was wonderful, not as strong as molasses, and the cake was very moist.
Every staff person who passed us or waited on us was friendly, more so than any other restaurant we've been in before. If you are looking for a quiet place to dine, Fig is not the place, but if you are looking for a place that has exceptional food and a great wait staff, Fig is the place to go!"

"Nice touch to have our name on a chalkboard at our reserved table! The menu for the day was on the reverse side. Our waitress, Chelsey, told us every ingredient in each item on the menu and explained how each was prepared. My husband and I both chose the snapper and split the beet salad. The fish came with puréed carrots and an assortment of mushrooms. Everything was delicious.
We each had a draft beer, a stout, that was very good and was a bargain at $3 a glass happy hour price. When Chelsey found out we were visitors, she gave us a list of some of her favorite restaurants in Charleston. Thank you again, Chelsey, for your service and your recommendations! We will definitely return to The Lot the next time we visit Charleston."
