"This was our first visit to Ocean Prime and now it is a favorite to which we will return. We had a special table request which was handled more attentively and sensitively than we have ever experienced before. The food was unequivocally among the best seafood in Denver. The crab cakes pleased all four ex-Marylanders in our party. The French onion soup got rave reviews. The sides of Brussels sprouts and jalapeno au gratin were delicious. All seafood entrees were perfectly prepared. The service struck the perfect balance of attentive, present and professional without hovering. The ambiance is upscale without pretense while multiple glass window/walls creating a sense of privacy while feeling open."

Deal makers, politicians and businessmen frequent the restaurant regularly making it the place see and be seen. The hotel main dining room serves traditional breakfast with a twist; deli sandwiches, creative entree's and salads for lunch, as well as our City Search 2006 Best Brunch winning Dom Perignon Sunday Brunch. Three tiers of champagne are offered to complement the experience: Domaine Chandon, Moet et Chandon, and of course, Dom Perignon.

"A predictably elegant Sunday Brunch Buffet with all the expected breakfast fare with omelettes, lamb, roast beef, sushi rolls, raw bar, seafood and a vast selection of sweets. There is no culinary magic here but a well prepared, beautifully presented brunch buffet in the elegant surroundings of the historic Brown Palace. Nice Jazz - I wish the musicians were next to the entrance door and the dessert buffet was with the other food. It might lessen the volume of the very nice jazz combo that can make conversation difficult and it might improve the flow of the room where the jazz group is set up now. Service was very professional and attentive."

"This was our best brunch buffet expereince in years and, by far, the best on Oahu. The buffet offerings were diverse, well, presented and constantly refreshed and delicious. The service was attentive - much more than you might expect at a buffet brunch. The oceanside setting and the gracious shaded open-air verandah seating was relaxing and beautiful. Add in a stroll through the dolphin lagoon and along the beach and we even walked off a few calories! The Kahala Resort is as gracious and well maintained as ever."

"The service at Bali was as outstanding as it has always been. Stephen is great and as professional as ever. The remodelled Bali does not feel luxurious at all. It is mid-century modern with an island flare, but executed poorly. From fraying floor covering (only months after reopening) and candles that have you looking at the battery operated bulbs to very uncomfortable chairs and dining behind a bird net that stretches between you and the ocean view - the dining expereince at Bali has been degraded markedly from it's prior level of excellence. With a tab over $200 for two, the ambiance is no longer worth it. This has always been one of our favorties in Waikiki - no longer - not sure we will return."

"The diverse menu offered many great Mediterranean options and the food was a nice change of pace from the typical Hawaiian fare offered elsewhere. Our server was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is a nice update of the old Charro's restaurant but it can still use further updates. We wish the wall of windows could be opened all the way so we were not looking at the beautiful view through screens, glass and seaspray. Overall it was a lovely lunch spot - very relaxing and quiet!"

For the ultimate in ambiance, delectable food and stellar service, Tidepools is the place. This quintessential Hawaiian setting has a backdrop of waterfalls with thatched roof bungalows that seemingly float above tropical lagoons. Savor contemporary Hawaiian style cuisine in this distinctive open-air setting. Diners rave about the exceptional service and fresh fish and steak options with a unique island flair including macadamia nut crusted mahimahi, grilled opah or a succulent steak. Salads feature fresh island-greens and the desserts are luscious. Don't miss this delightful experience.

"Our last time in Poipu, we had reservations for Tidepools the evening hurricane Iniki hit so we never got to dine there. The dining expereince was worth the wait. The service was exemplary - professional, attentive and fun. The food was delicious with outstanding preparations of fresh Hawaiian seafood. The ambiance was delightful in spite of overlooking a large corporate luau-type function across the lagoon. A romatic stroll along Poipu Beach helped us walk off dinner."

"This was our first visit and the ambiance under the beautiful hau tree on the beach with a breathtaking sunset at ocean's edge was wonderful and offered a new perspective on Waikiki beach from the other end of town. The service was gracious, professional and very attentive - in spite of it being a very busy night. The food was excellent. The gazpacho was perfect, the seafood mixed grill was delicious, the chef's prix-fix menu was delightful with a wonderful steak. Desserts - Chocolate Haupia Pie and Mac-nut Chessecake - were among the best we had on Oahu. We will return!"

"I guess we should not have been surprised as Monkeypod is run by Merriman, but the food was excellent. The Bulgogi Pork soft tacos were delicious, the fresh catch sandwich was outstanding, and the cocktails (get the No Ka Oi) were among the best we had on Oahu. The live music was great. The only thing lacking was an ocean view, but sitting in the shade while enjoying the music and watching the train go by was very relaxing and had it's own Ko'Olina vibe. Great experience!"

"You cannot beat the quiet ambiance ocean front on the Kahala beach. The food was outstanding and the service was professional if a bit aloof. We split the entree portion of Wonton Soup as a delightful appetizer and then each ordered seafood entrees that were outstanding. The bread pudding was a surprisingly light and delicious capstone to the great meal. It is worth seeking out the Kahala Resort for dining that is much quieter and closer to the water with food that equals other Honolulu fine dining!"

"Avoid Ola - This restaurant did not feel clean. The tables were sticky. The restrooms were awful. The food was medicore. I had a burger that had no flavor and was over cooked (no option how I wanted it prepared). The server was pleasant but was too busy to give us much attention - they seemed understaffed. She did take my beer off the bill that I did not drink as it was too bitter (my fault in ordering). The Turtle Bay Resort as a whole has detiorated severely from our last visit several years ago - very sad."
