"Second visit (a year later) as good as the first. Service is fantastic, the staff are genuine, not forced politeness which (to me) demonstrates that this is a good culture to work in, and it was super busy and still they were all very nice and accommodating. And the food is delicious. They offer a tasting menu which is a great value with wine parings for an additional $20 which makes it fun. We will definitely return to this restaurant again and again."

A word from UNION Rooftop

Experience the Union of talent, creativity, art, food, and design.

Kaskaid Hospitality has been credited with bringing dining in the Twin Cities to new heights, and UNION Rooftop / Workshop @ UNION is the crown jewel in its latest unveiling of unique hospitality concepts. Painstaking attention was paid to every detail, from restoring the building’s original architectural treasures to installing the one-of-a-kind retractable rooftop. UNION has engaged a talented culinary team that holds themselves to the highest standards, ensuring every dish is special, surprising, and cohesive. We have created a menu that can be experienced in just the right proportions, from an elegant snack before the theater, to a celebratory 5-course tasting menu featuring ingredients that change daily.

"This was a great retreat location when it first opened. The feel of the roof top was open and felt very fresh and airy with beautiful plants placed throughout the space. We have had at least 4 special dinners there. Now, it has a trashy feel to it. I expected Easter Sunday to feel a little special but they pushed all (now only 2 Palms) into one corner. More tables were forced in. I received a VM in advance warning me of a loud band and a 90 minute (enforced) limit on our table with an invitation to move my reservation downstairs if I did not like this venue. The reservation was for BRUNCH on the Roof Top. WELL, No Band, instead it was a DJ who had her cell phone hanging out of her wife beater tank top, bent over the board ridiculously bobbing her head up and down. The menu was an order by entree (actually brunch is now downstairs) and the food was nothing special and small portions (for Easter) plus the hashbrowns were burnt. I am taking the Union Roof Top of my list for special events as it is now just another bar with bar type food.
BTW - the place was half empty when our 90 minutes was up."

Rock Bottom is an exciting, lively restaurant and brewery featuring an eclectic menu at an affordable price. The service is friendly and energetic. Quality ingredients, talent, passion and innovation work hand in hand to bring fresh handcrafted beers with distinctive flavor from our on-site brewery.

"We waited 30 minutes for our table because 1) half of the restaurant was reserved for a private party and 2) our table was occupied by a group of ladies that were in no hurry to leave. The wait staff kept coming back to apologize. They then offered us free appetizers. The food was simple but really good and a great value which is nice for downtown...I would recommend the Bison Burger."
