"This is a steakhouse - you know what you are going to get. The steaks were good, the sides were good. And generous. The wine list is decent. We ate the early bird special (we came from the east coast so it didn't seem early). Excellent value - $25 for a very good upscale meal. There weren't many customers in a very large place when we were there. So it was quiet, but frankly a bit depressing."

Beaujolais Bistro is a charming bistro located at 130 West Street in downtown Reno, Nevada. We serve authentic French cuisine made with the finest ingredients available such as Niman Ranch Meat, Wild Salmon, and organic, local vegetables. We have an exceptional winelist featuring wines from Kermit Lynch, Louis/Dressner, and Rosenthal. There is a full bar. Our private room can seat up to 36 guests and is available for private tastings.. We offer a nightly prix fixe menu; wine pairings are availble upon request.

"We were looking for a restaurant away from the casino scene. Beaujolais Bistro was perfect - in a converted residence across the street from the river. Excellent food, beautifully presented. The wine list, although not extensive, is very good. Attentive, friendly service. We ate on the porch, which was very pleasant. There were also a number of tables on the lawn in front of the house. It appeared to us that, were we sitting inside, we would have found it quite noisy. This is not an inexpensive restaurant (certainly by Reno standards). With a bottle of wine, it will surely be over $100 for two, even if one is trying hard to be frugal (which we were not). But for us, it was well worth it."

"This is our special occasion restaurant. In this case the occasion was an out of town guest. She loved it, of course. In all the times I have been at Lewnes', I have had beef, but on this occasion I had tuna for a change. Also excellent."

"Lewnes' is our go-to place for special occasions. The beef is absolutely excellent. I'm told by friends that the fish and lamb are first rate too, but I have never personally tried them. The appetizers and salads are, for us at least, too large for one person. They can be split into two portions and still seem generous (indeed three or even four could share a salad, it seems to me). A half portion of a spinach side dish was more than enough for the two of us. The wine list is wonderful, although pricey. Service is excellent. Tables and booths are well spaced. We go to Lewnes' perhaps three times a year. Like all good steak houses, Lewnes' is expensive (c. $200 including tax and tip with a lower end bottle of wine)."
