Hyperion Public is a local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. We serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week, including weekend brunch starting at 9am on Sat & Sun. Our menu is "Unique American" consisting of American cuisine with contemporary twists.

<br />Barnyard is an intimate, neighborhood restaurant by Chef Jesse Barber. Bringing a soulful menu of small and shared plates, small-production beers and naturally farmed wines to Venice. <br /><br />Known for his mastery of seafood and respect for seasonal produce, Barber cooks with a nod to classical French and Japanese techniques. House-made sausages, slow-cooked stocks and seasonal produce are meticulously cared for; the quality refelects Barber's training under Thomas Keller, at French Laundry and Bouchon.<br /><br />As the opening Chef de Cuisine at The Tasting Kitchen in Venice, Jesse led a troupe of talented, young professionals on a journey that involved late nights, early mornings and loads of commitment to their culinary craft. They transformed the space from near bankruptcy into one of GQ's “Top 10 Restaurants in America” and nominee for three James Beard Awards.

"Overall great space with a great patio - ordered 2 different beers on tap and they said we ran out of them - they also ran out of the bread for the grilled cheese - come on pull it together - overall the food was good but service was poor to fair"

Who is Olaf Banger? Few people really know, but everybody seems to have an opinion. They say Olaf Gufstafson Banger, or "OG" Banger as he was often called, was born in America, but moved to Germany in the 1940’s to learn the art of sausage making from a group of Tibetan Monks who had settled on the peak of the Zugspitze Mountain.<br />By the time he reached adulthood, his sausage making prowess had become so renowned, pigs would "fly" hundreds of miles just to be in one... no one could believe it. Though his fate remains a mystery his legacy lives on at the Sausage House & Beer Garden that bears his name. Good honest food & drink served by good honest people. That’s how Olaf liked it and so that’s how things will remain here at Banger’s.

What's Sunny Spot? Think roadside cook shop, where Roy Choi’s in the kitchen and every day's a holiday. Here you'll find sticky, crackling, double-fried jerk chicken, rum-glazed prawns and plates of fried pig's feet. Brown sugar short ribs scented with Old World spices will vanish under hungry hands while the plate is still hot-hot-hot. Fingers are to be licked, conversations are to be had later... because, for the most part, everyone’s here to EAT.<br />

Parkside, a gastro pub in Austin’s lively downtown area is home to chef/owner Shawn Cirkiel. Located directly on Sixth Street it offers a casual venue for his unpretentious, but bold take on New American Cuisine. Offerings include a sumptuous raw bar—which often carries as many as 16 varieties of oysters. While the menu changes seasonally—even daily--diners can enjoy both dramatic dishes like seared scallops with butternut puree, jalapeno, and lime or comfort basics such as a cheeseburger or fried egg sandwich.
