"simply beyond the ordinary"<br />"****" - Kathie Jenkins - Saint Paul Pioneer Press<br /><br />Downtowner Woodfire Grill specializes in Persian fire roasted meats, grilled steaks and chops, and gourmet wood-fired pizzas. The atmosphere is warm & lively offering 2 fireplaces, a full bar with 3 fountains and live jazz. The restaurant offers free parking with convenience to both the Xcel Energy Center & Ordway Theater. Downtowner Woodfire Grill also provides a full menu for breakfast & lunch, and a children's menu. This cozy restaurant serves a great plate as well as provides an experience to savor.

"Unfortunately downtowner lost a regular customer today. Not because the food wasn't good, or because our server wasn't good, but because they choose to "sell" their parking for events versus ensuring that their customers have a place to park when they have reservations. In addition when I called to ask "where we should park for our reservation" I was told to park and they would validate/reimburse us for the event parking". They did not. It was very very poor customer service. So instead of reimbursing is for a $10 parking on a $150 meal/drinks, they've now lost our business and the business of many of our friends who have also frequented there. It's very unfortunate when a business puts making an extra dollar on event parking a priority."

The Lake Elmo Inn offers award-winning American cuisine, and has been voted Best Restaurant, Best Service, Best Dessert, Best Brunch, and Twin Cities Institution locally by Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine 'Reader's Choice Awards'. Zagat scores the Lake Elmo Inn at a 28 out of 30 for food, calling us a "hidden secret". We also received Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for our extensive wine list for twelve years in a row. <br />The Lake Elmo Inn has been chosen as one of the top 100 Brunches in the nation by Open Table. From shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, double smoked ham, and carved rounds of beef, to eggs Benedict, Belgium waffles, mouthwatering salads, and fresh seasonal fruit, the Lake Elmo Inn serves a Sunday Brunch that is artfully prepared and elegantly presented.

This is a favorite Saint Paul dining destination since 1975. The Restaurant is housed in the turn-of-the-century Dacotah Building which lies in the heart of the historic Cathedral Hill District. W. A. Frost has incomparable ambiance and rare old world character. It boasts several grand wood-burning fireplaces, a charming old bar and the European-style garden patio and garden bar and lounge. The new American cuisine at W. A. Frost is derived from an eclectic mix of ingredients meticulously sourced, with a very strong emphasis on local small farmers that use organic and sustainable practices. Minnesota's best wine list, best outdoor dining in the Twin Cities and the most romantic restaurant are just a few awards received.

"Food and wine were great. Parking can be tricky but if you're willing to walk a little, it's okay. Server wasn't very friendly, but it wouldn't stop me from going back. If it became a pattern, then I might change my mind."

The heart of a gracious clubhouse is a welcoming bar and restaurant where you can enjoy an excellent meal in beautiful surroundings, and entertain with confidence. David's always has an eye on golf, with a wall of windows that overlooks the 18th fairway...but after the sun goes down, the crackling fireplace becomes the focal point. Relax with one of our signature martinis or one of 15 beers on tap!

"We had dinner with friends and thought this place looked good. We'd been there previously for brunch a year or so ago so thought we'd try dinner. It's a pretty restaurant and during the day has a great view of the golf course, but that's where the positive review ends. The food was sad. Crab cakes were not good, filet was tiny, paella was basically rice-a-roni (the only good part was the sausage, but the shrimp and chicken had to be cooked separately as the tasted like water and had no flavor (paella is supposed to be cooked all together. It was a sad dinner, especially for the cost. And our waitress was a flake. Would not recommend unless they made major changes."
