"We were delighted to try Seasons 52, as we are very health conscious and like their philosophy. WE were not disappointed. And it started with our fantastic waitress, Asia. She let us taste wine before ordering our glasses, then had enthusiastic recommendations, which we promptly ignored! Loved the arugula salad and the arugula flatbread, the kale caesar was nothing special, but they gave us two salad dressings with each!. Our main dishes were better than expected: the shrimp pasta dish was loaded with shrimp and had a bit of a kick; the scallop dish was presented beautifully and was also well flavored. Then the mini dessert was a perfect ending. not too much, but oh so good. We will be back....soon."

Sycamore is a seasonally inspired, chef-owned neighborhood bistro in Newton Centre. Emphasizing locally sourced produce, fish and meat, our menu draws on classic European country food; rustic and wholesome. Our beverage program is designed to complement the cuisine. The wine list focuses on passionate small producers, our beers are by and large domestic craft selections and the cocktail list highlights classic drinks and sipping spirits.

"All of us chose the same salad appetizer, a fine choice, but with a number of additional interesting choices, I am sad I had nothing else to taste! WE did order 4 different dinners and I dare say my red snapper was the best. The least exciting was the steak frites; it was fine, but not nearly as interesting as the lasagne and the sausage(?). My appreciation to the staff who noted that we were celebrating my cousin's birthday and brought a mini dessert and candle even when we didn't order dessert!"

Hungry Mother is a neighborhood restaurant, offering a welcoming place to enjoy great food, unique and local wines and beers, as well as cocktails and liquors. Chef Maiden's food is blend of his training in classical French techniques, his Virginian roots, and his commitment to local sustainable ingredients.

"Lately, when we go to a good restaurant, we're taken aback by how loud it is. But in this culinary gem, the rooms are small so the noise level never gets outrageous. And then there's the food....which might not sound as good as it tastes, but trust me, it is special. WE went for our anniversary. The four of us devoured the cornbread; the other appetizers were good. Two orders of the chicken dish, one of beef and one catfish were shared and loved by all of us. The sides added to the main dishes. All were prepared in an unusual manner. No idea if they'd be done the same way at another visit, but we'll find out, because at these reasonable prices and the relative quiet, we will be trying the same and new dishes with friends, for sure."

Myers + Chang is a funky indie diner setting offering Chef/Owner Joanne Chang and Christopher Myers's very personal interpretation of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese specialties. At Myers + Chang, we focus on sourcing fresh, beautiful, local-when-possible ingredients, using lighter sauces, and giving you either fun and innovative takes on classic dishes, or creating new dishes that stay true to the flavors of the region.

We are inspired by Taiwanese soul food and Southeast Asian street food, all done with a great deal of care. It is a personal, sometimes loose interpretation, to be sure, but our criteria are simple: everything we make must be fresh, delicious, and addictive. We are passionate about sharing our love of this food with you.

"Myers and Chang lived up to our expectations and then some. Our favorite dishes were the eggplant and brussel sprouts!! Our least favorite was the short ribs - not what you'd expect. But we loved our other dishes and our waitress was VERY HELPFUL with our ordering. To her credit, she suggested we not order an additional pasta dish, as she thought we'd have too much. She was right. WE will be back, for sure!"
