Susan's Reviews

Built in 1790 as a barn and named for local farmer John Kittle, the farm to table connection that began back then continues today at Crabtree's Kittle House. Internationally renowned for its Wine Spectator Grand Award wine list, superlative hospitality and contemporary American cuisine, it is a sophisticated country dining experience located only 45 minutes from Manhattan. Whether stopping in for a casual meal in the Tap Room or planning a formal intimate celebration from 2 to 200 guests, you'll find something for everyone and every occasion at Crabtree's Kittle House. The culinary team focuses on the local bounty of the Hudson Valley, from the casual Tap Room menu of salads, LaFrieda burgers & fresh cold shellfish to the more refined cuisine on the a la carte and Chef's Tasting menus, available in both the Tap Room & Dining Room. And nowhere is there a greater selection of fine wines (5000!) and other libations. Also a Bed & Breakfast, there are 13 rooms for overnight accommodations

"Eat here often but forgot that Thursday nights are "music" night. It was a little loud for a quiet dinner with good friends but enjoyed it, as always, despite the noise. Prefer a NON music night next time when going with others; Music OK if just the two of us. Susan"

Feel the love...award-wining, Farm-To-Fork bistro where local ingredients go on a global adventure: Black Truffle Salsify Soup with toasted pecan dust; Kale & Quinoa Salad with a duo of dressings; Chestnut Gnocchi with Cognac-Clementine Sauce; Pan-Seared Arctic Char with Cauliflower-Leek Bisque & Cucumber Twirl; Pork Twice (Chop & Belly) with Maple-Pecan Oatmeal; Short Ribs Bourguignon. Enjoy our pickled radishes, white bean dip and artisan breads--with our love. Reserve your favorite table in the corner, the 8-seat round table, or cozy up to the marble-and-mahogany bar for seasonal martinis, boutique wines from around the world, and the best house made Sweet & Spicy Potato Chips.Take a vacation for the night--and leave your passport at home.

"We eat here often with friends and always enjoy; know the staff by now and service is always impeccable and food quite good, though this night, one guest felt his swordfish was over cooked and dry."
