Jackie's Reviews

A neighborhood bar restaurant occupying the space of a 1920’s bank. The décor is inspired by nineteenth century Parisian establishments. Terra Cotta textured walls, dimly lit chandelier’s, copper table tops & curved banquette seating create a very unique and intimate setting.
Executive Chef, John J. Loughran formerly of River Café in Brooklyn has created a menu that changes seasonally; using the best of locally sourced ingredients. Chef John’s philosophy, buy local and be creative. This is evident in every dish you taste at Banc Café.
Our cocktails are created using fresh fruit & natural ingredients.
We feel that tasty food & flavorful drinks provided with honest friendly service is a great way to win someone over. We hope that someone is you.
Enjoy!
"Rainy Monday night, but the place was jumping. Perhaps the Happy Hour prices? Lots of people watching opportunities to go with the excellent food. Chopped salad was tasty and easy to eat, quesadilla more than enough for dinner. Service was efficient, although not particularly warm."

Local. Organic. Sustainable.
At STIX, we believe in quality and simplicity. It’s good food on a stick.
What’s better than that?
We’re committed to serving only the best locally sourced protein and produce. Our goal is to leave a small footprint while still giving you the tastiest and healthiest food possible.

Located directly across from the Museum of Natural History, Ocean Grill has been a staple for Upper West Side seafood lovers for years. Sample daily selections from the Raw and Sushi bars, paired with a featured wine and other fresh seafood. Feeling creative? Ocean Grill allows you to create your own meal with our daily list of Simply Grilled Fish served with your choice of sauce and seasonal side dish. Relax in the candle-lit lounge or refined dining area that resembles a luxury liner, complete with oversized mirrors and round porthole windows looking into the kitchen. The adjacent photo room is lined with retro black and white seaside snapshots and is a perfect spot for romance or celebration and as always kids are welcome.

"My friend and I celebrated her birthday at this elegant spot on Columbus Avenue. The special corn cake appetizer was surprisingly spicy and quite tasty, as were the always reliable spring rolls. The simply prepared Chatam Cod was the best ever, light and buttery simultaneously. Side dish of green beans, recommended by our attentive waitress, was amazing- garlic and black pepper added to the experience."

A neighborhood staple, The Standard Grill is classic New York meets new American cuisine. The front café, bar and street-side bistro is clean and bright with white oak and tile décor and features fresh oysters, specialty cocktails and charcuterie. The main dining room is cozy, old-world with red leather banquets, barrel vaulted ceilings, and a floor paved in copper pennies. The Standard Grill utilizes the freshest local ingredients, blending traditional steak house with new American grill sensibilities.

"Excellent experience for our party of four. Everyone enjoyed entrees, service was exceptional, and it was a lovely evening to sit outdoors in a private corner booth. A bit pricey for a regular meal, but perfect for special occasion."
