Acknowledging that creativity must come from inspiration, Empellón Cocina sees the vast greatness of Mexican foodways as our portal. In our kitchen, we reach for ingredients like hoja santa leaf and Mexican chorizo both because they inspire us and, quite simply, because they are good. Born out of a heartfelt fascination with this country and its regional cuisines, Empellón Cocina strives not to imitate or replicate, but rather to draw upon with an appropriate amount of respect, humility, and awe.<br /><br />Like so many chefs that have tinkered, tweaked, and challenged their chosen cooking discipline in New York City, we embrace that spirit of freedom as we think through and toil over dishes that interest and excite us. We believe a restaurant should be allowed to change its mind every step of the way, and as such our approach is continuously evolving and deeply personal.

Koi Restaurant and Lounge at Trump SoHo NYC boasts a sophisticated interior that is both modern yet Zen-inspired. Illuminated by candlelight, Koi creates an intimate yet sleek dining environment. The energetic New York crowd sets the atmosphere for food that rivals this restaurant's stylish setting. <br /><br />Koi's contemporary Japanese cuisine utilizes local and International ingredients. Among Koi's popular signature shared plates are Koi Crispy Rice topped with Spicy Tuna; Spicy Crunchy Yellowtail Tartare; Hamachi Fusion with Soy Yuzu and Truffle essence. Signature entrees include Miso-Bronzed Black Cod with Okinawa Potato Puree; Kobe Style Filet Mignon "Toban-Yaki"; and steamed Chilean Sea Bass with Ichimi, ginger, and shiitake. In addition to our signature rolls, Koi's sushi chefs present traditional topmost grades of seafood, including daily selections which are often celebrated by the modern and adventurous palate.

Known for their upscale burgers, RARE's menu has over 20 different burgers made in house daily. The ever so popular flambeed & steakhouse burgers, have New Yorkers & food editors buzzing with the "M&M Burger" being voted one of Time Out NY Magazine's best burger of 2014. Along with a juicy menu, RARE Bar & Grill serves a seasonal cocktail menu along with a unique variety of wines & draft beers.<br /><br />RARE has also become the prime spot for Football Season & all sporting events with the opening of their new Sports Pub Room adjacent to the dining room. Don't forget to head up to their year-round Rooftop Bar, RARE View, for cocktails with a skyline view.
