Bringing the best fried chicken and freshest farm ingredients from Florida and Georgia to the table since 2011, Yardbird has since garnered the praises of the James Beard Foundation as a semi-finalist for “Best New Restaurant South” and as one of Bon Appétit’s “50 Best New Restaurants” in 2012. Yardbird sticks to the values of tradition, family, and community with a menu of “soul-nurturing” dishes intended for sharing. A warm, comforting environment lets guests feel relaxed and at home while dining at Yardbird. Southern touches add to the nostalgia, like antique candlestick holders, wildflowers on all the tables, and handmade light fixtures outfitted with Edison bulbs in Mason jars.

Sushi Roku combines the finest, freshest fish from pristine waters around the globe with the kind of artistry that can only be provided by a mature sushi chef ensuring superlative traditional sushi, together with a splash of California innovation. Sushi Roku is a pioneer of contemporary sushi, incorporating diverse, non-traditional ingredients from Latin America (e.g. jalapeños) and Europe (e.g. olive oil) into its edible works of art. This unique culinary experience that bridges past and present is the result of an eagerness to embrace new ideas and a profound respect for tradition. Sushi Roku’s bold and diverse menu also offers an array of hot and cold specialty appetizers and an extensive selection of exotic entrées.

RobataBar, located behind Sushi Roku features robatayaki style skewers, tapas style sashimi dishes, and sushi.
Michel Richard's modern American brasserie, and winner of the 2008 James Beard award for best new restaurant is located on Penn. Ave NW between the White House and the Capitol. We serve Michel's tribute to great American cuisine, both modern and classic, with a French accent. A vibrant bar scene with boutique beer and wines, and modern and classic cocktails.

"Tuna Burger, Tuna tartar, mussels, Steak Frit, frisse salad with poached egg - EVERYTHING was wonderful. However, we arrived at 6:57 for a 7pm reservation. TOld they were cleaning up a few 4 tops right then. Apparently those were not our 4 tops. We waited over 35 minutes which was unacceptable bc the entire time there were multiple 4 tops free. Even after we were seated, one 4 top at the front of the house which had been free when we arrived, was still open. The tables were empty but the line was out the door."

"Ask to be seated in main dining room or outside. The secondary dining room smells like an old dank house. The clams linguini is excellent as is Cesar salad. Our waiter tried 4x to take our check while we were still drinking coffee. He could have just left it there until we left. Odd. Made a relaxed night feel too rushed."

"Used to be consistently good. Now it's just usually good. Tuna tartar was excellent, but roast chicken was overlooked & the bed of corn, Lima bean type mix chicken was on was undercooked."
