Growing up in Saronno, Italy, Aldo Marcon would pretend he was the "Amaretto Cookie Chef" in his grandmother"s kitchen. He started cooking as soon as he could get his hands on the stove and never looked back. Marcon studied at Hotel-Restaurant Culinary School "Carlo Porta" in Milan, has worked for notable restaurants throughout the world creating awe-inspiring dishes.

In 2005, Chef Marcon was featured in a few TV Food shows in New Orleans. Afterwards working as chef and owner of La Riviera in Metairie. Cooked for Saint-Michael's Charity Events (Baby Down Syndrome) along with renown chefs Emeril Lagasse and Mario Batali.

In 2008, he moved to Miami and has worked for Cafe Milano, Quattro and Puntino, some of the most renown Italian restaurants in Miami Beach.

He says he is a student to his guests, but full of surprises that please them!

"overall food and service was good, nothing extraordinary. Nice location. My disappointment was that hostess told us that she had a great table for us and in was a tiny table for two, hidden, when there were plenty of tables to choose from. That was a huge downer and made me feel unwelcomed and cheated."

Located in Old San Juan, just one block from La Fortaleza (the Governor’s Mansion) Barrachina restaurant has been catering to tourist and locals for over 40 years in the old city. The surrounding beauty of a colonial building over two centuries old with an interior courtyard and magnificent tropical foliage is the birthplace and home of the world famous piña colada, where don Ramon Portas Mingot, first made the famous drink in 1963. A visit to San Juan is not complete without Barrachina. For reservations for the Flamenco show on Friday and Saturday evenings, please contact the restaurant directly.

Big City Tavern is a busy, vibrant restaurant reminiscent of the great urban taverns of Chicago, New York and Boston. A stylish, classic American restaurant, Big City offers a varied menu featuring dry aged steaks, burgers, fresh seafood, salads and fresh house-made pasta of the day. Some of the more popular dishes are the Pan Roasted Salmon with Tomato and the House-Made Charcuterie. The desserts are all enticing, all house made and all delicious. The extensive wine list emphasizes California varietals by the bottle or glass. With its magnificent grand bar always busy, Big City has a constant din of energy and conviviality. Big City offers outdoor sidewalk dining in the center of the action on Las Olas Blvd.

Please call the restaurant to make reservations for parties of 12 or more!
