Fine Northern Italian cuisine is offered in a casual yet sophisticated setting where New York's elite congregate to see and be seen. Fresh flowers enhance the brightly lit dining room that opens onto Madison Avenue in warmer weather. Selections include pastas and fresh seafood with their signature shaved truffles.

"Open Table cautions that one should be aware the cost of food is expensive here, but having said that, the quality and refinement of what you get is remarkable. Everything is freshly prepared to order with the highest level of expertise. It doesn't get better than what you get at Nello. And with such a high-end menu the restaurant is busy but not overcrowded."

Amali is a sustainably driven Mediterranean restaurant. Rather than write about ourselves, we prefer to let the press speak for us.<br /><br />Wine Enthusiast, Top 100 Wine Restaurants in the Country, 2014<br /><br />Eater 38 Essential New York Restaurants 2013-2014<br />"This handsome Mediterranean restaurant serves one of the city's top brick chickens, and the seafood, pasta dishes, and charcuterie are just as good. Amali is...a destination for Greek wine enthusiasts."<br /><br />Critic's Recommendation, New York Times, 2012: "Amali has a commitment to seasonality and sustainability and a daring wine list."<br /><br />Two Stars, New York Magazine, 2012: "It gives over a whole section of the menu to salads and vegetables along with an impressive wine bottle list."<br /><br />Wine & Spirits Magazine, Top Newcomer. "For many years I have enjoyed this restaurant as a Greek Taverna, but every decade or so it goes through a name change and perhaps a new owner. In the past I had dinner at Amali which included wonderful fresh fish and as I recall, the portions were plentiful. This time I was there for lunch on a weekday with three guests and the service was somewhat slow and sleepy even though the restaurant itself was about 80% full. There was no lunch menu, which surprised me; the waitress said everything is served a la carte. Two of us ordered lamb-burgers ($18) which were not only delicious but substantial in size; the vegan salad was minimal ($15), but my pasta with bolognese sauce was definitely meagre in quantity ($25). I will not be going back."

The restaurant showcases innovative food, which blends Japanese ingredients with the modern methods of Modern cooking. <br /><br />Founder and owner Mihoko Kiyokawa, Ph.D. incorporates her diverse background in a stunning environment designed by Bruno Borrione to create a distinct dining experience that aims not only to stimulate the five senses but also the soul. <br /> <br />21 Grams is the first restaurant conceptualized and designed by Mihoko Kiyokawa Ph.D, a classically trained ballerina, costume designer for theatre and Holistic Nutritionist. It is said that 21 Grams is the weight of the spirit or soul. The restaurant reintegrates its cuisine into modern dining, a style first popularized in the 19th century with an innovative menu that takes a modern approach to Japanese cuisine harmonizing modern culinary techniques and sensibility.

"We last ate here several years ago and having seen it survive, we thought we'd try it again. Alas, it has not gotten any better than before. The Hot and Sour soup appetizer was the best part of the meal for me. There were three of us, each ordering different entrees: poached salmon, crispy beef, and Beijing chicken. We knew what to expect when the dishes all arrived and they were each covered in the same colored sweet and sour sauce. The beef and chicken were both quite oily. On the luncheon menu we were being offered coconut and grape sorbet, but in reality what arrived had nothing to do with coconut -- rather, it was more pineapple sorbet. We hate to give a glamorous restaurant in a fine part of town a bad review, but c'est la vie."

"1st October was the 65th anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and Hakkasan organized a special celebratory dinner, beginning with excellent dim sum and Peking Duck pancakes through a variety of main entrees and ending with hot steamed dumplings with chocolate sauce and ginger tea. The meal ended with a gift of chocolate-coated macaroons with gold-dust topping. At US$138 the meal would not have been for everyone, but it was absolutely top quality and well worth the cost. We understand that all of the restaurants Hakkasan has around the world were serving this same menu for a two-week period. It was quite magical."

"A real TREASURE set in the gateway to the Hudson Valley, LE CANARD ENCHAINÉ satisfies your taste buds while you yearn for more. For many years it was known by a dedicated group of followers who would travel 30 to 45 minutes out of their way just to eat here. Now, through Open Table, it is accessible to the world. With the exception of Wednesday (when they are closed for lunch), every weekday presents a plat de jour of one of their famous dishes discounted to $15.95, a full-size portion of freshly prepared entrees. And do not forget about their home-made soups: chicken noodle, beef vegetable, carrot apple, and their award-winning French Onion in its own crock. Then follows their incredible desserts from their own French Kiss bakery."

"I never knew what French Onion Soup should taste like until I visited LE CANARD ENCHAINÉ and now I cannot have it anywhere else. The Master chef Jean-Jacques Carquillat created his dream bistro in the Hudson Valley where he discovered his wife Jennifer, and together they have developed a superb selection of traditional French cuisine, whether it be escargot or sweetbreads, calves liver with onions or roast duck with berry sauce, all is superb and unmatched. But then when you thought it was safe to order your various coffees, the waitress begins reciting the list of home-made desserts, from peach tart to upside down apple pie to pumpkin cheesecake and flour-less chocolate cake. No wonder his homemade soups and fresh desserts are popular."
