Satsuma's Reviews

Modern Californian cuisine utilizing locally grown, sustainably farmed and fair-traded products. Our goal is to not only enhance quality but also to support a new, more responsible attitude toward our community and the world around us. That is why we donate all net profits to chartable causes. Both warm and inviting, nature was the inspiration for Andrei's interior; from the soaring two-story waterfall in the lobby to the striking onyx and granite bar and eco-friendly pecan wood floors, every detail was hand-selected for its natural beauty. We welcome you to visit Andrei's for a truly special dining experience.
"Decided to re-visit Andrei's during Restaurant Week, and was sooo glad I did. We had the lunch menu prix fixe and loved every morsel. The macarons from Pastry Chef Elyssa were a perfect ending to the meal. Chef Yves' Chili as a soup starter was to die for."

CUCINA enoteca is centrally located in the Irvine Spectrum, one of Orange County's most energized retail experiences! Owner Tracy Borkum's flair for combining great ambience, award-winning cuisine and unparalleled service are once again starring components in this latest Urban Kitchen Group creation. Executive Chef Joe Magnanelli and Chef de Cuisine Lulu de Rouen bring their artistry to the table as guests enjoy an open kitchen, including a rotisserie, pizza oven and salumi and formaggi display. The menu features Italian classics with a modern twist, made with the freshest local, organic and sustainable ingredients. Along with a diverse selection of wines by the glass, guests may visit the restaurant's retail area to select from over 200 bottles for dinner (corkage fee of $8 applies) or purchase wine to go. The energetic space features contemporary elements and vintage artifacts creating the feel of a modern Italian kitchen combined with the comfort of an old rustic farmhouse.

"Tasty food. Good Restaurant Week menu. First time I've not felt we got good service. Too many tables per server? I don know. Host stand was well staffed, and super controlling about where reservations could sit. Not to worry, we'll be back!"

"The prices are high, for what comes on the plate! Yes it was tasty, and one plate, even, sublime! But $80 for two of us without alcohol is a one-off. We're never doing that again. It was loud, and the all white furniture with glass is startlingly white, sharp, and not comfortable. Not a soothing place to be. Nothing gracious about how it felt. Okay, maybe I'm just old, but looking at who was sitting around us as we left, not many under 40's there. Could that be a price point issue?"

Located in historic Old Towne Orange, Ways & Means cuisine features fresh, sustainably-caught seafood and seasonal ingredients.Inspired by classic oyster bars and fish houses found in coastal cities around the world. The restaurant also offers tender, prepared-exactly-how-you-like-it aged steaks, plus a rotating mix of East and West-coast oysters at its oyster bar.

The innovative wine list, which complements the coastal influenced cuisine, features selections from Europe to Australia and California to South Africa. It offers guests affordable wines by the glass, as well as more extensive offerings by the bottle. The thoughtful bar program includes classic cocktails prepared with a twist and premium beers.

Desserts are not an afterthought. In fact, you may want to come for the desserts alone.

"Underwhelming. Poached Pear and Passion fruit ice cream dessert was A. Everything else was average. Was wishing for something wonderful, as I had heard good things. Great re-do of the old Cocos. Fabulous light fixtures."

"Loved the freshness of everything! Brussel Sprouts appetizer had my vegetarian nephew raving. And my fried chicken was drop dead perfect! Wasn't as keen on the fish, as it seemed overcooked to me. Salad was tasty, but would have preferred more of the flavor pieces mixed in with the greens. Shrimp wontons made another diner really happy. I've been before, but the other diners hadn't. All said they'd come back in a heartbeat."
