Chef/Owner Hector Ruiz welcomes you to Café Ena: A cozy intimate restaurant located in the tangletown neighborhood in south Minneapolis. Chef Ruiz pares his classic French technique and South American palate to present an exciting menu of Latin-Fusion cuisine. Begin your meal with a south american style ceviche, shrimp, fish, scallops and shrimp in a aji sauce. The many entrées include, scallops, halibut, pork tenderloin, Argentinean style steaks finished in a savory chimichurri. The wine list focuses on a wide range of varietals from Central and South America. Weekly Wine Flights are a great opportunity to sample the many styles offered on the list. If wine is not your thing, perhaps you would enjoy one of the many cervesas, always served in a frosty mug with a lime.

"This is our second time at this restaurant. Food is excellent, service very attentive. It's a winner...one of the best Latin fusion restaurants in the Metro."

Salut Bar Américain is the brasserie down the block. Warm and welcoming, with an urbane wit and urban sensibility, it’s an afternoon hangout and an evening refuge. It’s your neighbor with a French accent. The setting evokes a classic Parisian bistro/restaurant. The service is spirited, confident and capably executed. And the cooking captures the freshness and hearty flavor of French cuisine. It’s the vibe inside that sets Salut apart from bowing maitre ‘d’s and sniffing sommeliers. From the welcoming wine list, to the playful décor, to the genial buzz in the dining room, Salut celebrates the French restaurant’s essential qualities while dispensing with the exclusionary ones. It demystifies French food by making it accessible and rewarding while poking fun at the stereotypes that surround it. Salut gives French dining a shot in the arm – while giving the French a gentle kick in the derriere. In this sense, Salut is a dual citizen: Authentically French – but proudly American.

"Another very good experience at this restaurant. Our party of 6 had to a wait a bit for a table because I requested a table away from the bars (which are pretty noisy). They honored my request. Excellent food, very well handled service for a group of 6. Hanger Steak was excellent."

"Suburban/urban cool environment. A real happening restaurant. A couple of the dishes are unparalleled (e.g. spit roasted chicken). I had a special, the Rigatoni Bolognese. Fantastic! One of the best Dirty Martinis in town. Excellent service. Perfect reason to use Open Table. This place books up and the waits can be 45+ without a reservation."

Classic Japanese cuisine in a fun, modern neighborhood restaurant. Our menu features fresh, authentic and traditional Japanese foods. In addition to sushi and robata, the menu includes a substantial selection of noodles including different varieties of udon, soba and ramen.

"Very cool restaurant...great vibe and ambience. Best sushi I've ever had. Another guest and I shared a sushi "sampler" type plate where you basically order by how much you want to spend and they choose what they are going to give you based on your guidelines. Exquisitely prepared...way more than enough for 2 big appetites. They have excelllent cooked food options, too. One of our party mentioned the menu was a little complicated. Fairly noisy. I would recommend one of the cool booths against the windows because they are far from the bar and ktichen."

"Great restaurant often overlooked by foodies. Fish preparations are excellent. Sea Bass was perfectly prepared. Full bar selections. We also had the avocado egg roll as an appetizer. Never had that before. It was fantastic although they forgot to bring before the main course. So, they comped it for us. This is the second time they have forgotten to bring the appetizer. Curious. Restaurant has a bit of a chain feel to it (because it is) but beautifully appointed."

"Our third time at this restaurant. An excellent vibe, beautiful design, excellent service. Food curiously lacking in flavor. Grass fed steak was beautifully prepared but seemed to be missing something, duck was just fair and chewy. Tuna and salmon gravlax appetizers were outstanding. The place was curiously not that busy considering it was Valentine's Day."

"Probably an underrated restaurant in the Twin Cities. Has a slightly restaurant chain feel. This is a prototype for a yet to be developed chain of restaurants. Nice menu...fish and sushi oriented. Great atmosphere...energetic but you can still hear yourself. Service was excellent. Must be popular...2 hour wait for dinner when we got there...fortunately, they honored our reservation and we were seated right away."

"Star Tribune featured this restaurant as one of the tops of the year. Pleasant, nice atmosphere, good food. My wife thought the scallops were some of the best she's had. The crab cakes were too salty. We had to order a side dish of brussel sprouts because the main course was served with nothing. Drinks were so-so. Lefse concoction for dessert was a fail. Overall, more of a hip place because of the second floor rooftop restaurant than a real foodie place."
