Donna's Reviews

Opened in 2012, Farmstead Table blends French technique and new world innovation in a classic American country kitchen. Inspired by local farmers, our culinary team believes that fresh and pure ingredients don’t need too much tinkering and can speak for themselves. The innovative food is complemented by lively cocktails, domestic craft brews, and finely curated wines. A soothing design and intimate dining area provide a relaxed feel, while our staff delivers polished, yet approachable service. We are dedicated to being actively involved our community, contributing sustainable, responsibly sourced product and knowledge, and in doing so, establishing ourselves as a place for its members to gather.

"Had lunch there. Good food but very few choices. Wished there were more options."

"We have eaten there several times before in previous years and had all good things to say. This time we found there service slow and the food was just ok. Don't know if this was an off night. Might consider trying it again in the future but there are so many choices in the area."

"My husband and I went pre-theatre and found the experience wonderful. I had requested a table by the window and we were seated in a very lovely table with a view down Washington Street. The service was attentive but not obtrusive. We decided on ordering multiple appetizers as small plates for dinner. The mussels were tender, the scallops cooked perfectly.
A big plus is its location, down the street from the Opera House.

Will Artley brings more than a decade of restaurant experience to his position as Executive Chef at Pizzeria Orso. Artley made his national television debut as a cheftestant on Food Network’s Chopped in November 2012, and since his arrival at Pizzeria Orso, has helped secure a spot as one of the top “50 Best Restaurants” in Northern Virginia by Northern Virginia Magazine in both 2012 and 2013. Additionally Pizzeria Orso has been honored with numerous accolades including Northern Virginia Magazine’s Best of NoVA 2013 for both Best Chef and Best Italian Restaurant, and Best Pizza in Falls Church News-Press’ Best of Falls Church 2013. Artley’s playful personality pairs well with his extensive culinary talents in presenting some of the most celebrated Neapolitan style pizza and inventive globally-inspired small plates available in the DC area.

Now in the 25th year, this "winning" Restaurant Row Italian is renowned for its "Roman style specialties". (Don't miss "those fried artichokes"), "gracious services" and "after the theater" crowd departs for a more relaxed meal.

Le Rivage offers you a cozy, romantic French country atmosphere where traditional French cuisine is expertly prepared for your pleasure. Fresh flowers embellish each table. Prices are delightfully affordable with incredibly rewarding selections; a true bargain in the heart of the theatre district.

"We have been to this restaurant several times in the past few years and it is consistently great. The food is always hot and delicious and the service is excellent. The only negative is that the tables are very close together and so you hear others conversations. This isn't enough to prevent us from loving it there. Very reasonable prices, especially for the theatre district."

"The service was excellent with plenty of attention to details. The caviar was beautifully presented. The stroganoff was delicious. We felt the menu was limited. The decor was a bit worn. Would eat there again."

"Service was attentive and professional. Food was hot and delicious. We enjoyed a grilled octopus appetizer which was great. The monk fish medallions were nicely done and the mussels were tender. The wine list had a nice selection. Would recommend this little gem."
