Artemus's Reviews

The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. Located in the courtyard of the Charles Hotel, our restaurant evokes the simple style of the original Legal Sea Foods that was in nearby Inman Square, Cambridge. In warmer months our outside patio reels in those who choose the fresh seafood and fresh air combo.

We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “#1 Best Seafood Restaurant” (USA Today, 2013), “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

"I have been eating at Legal Seafood since they started out in Inman Square. I took a few years off when the food just nosedived. Then I discovered that the Charles Square location was putting out dependable good food. So we came often and will return. It's just that last night the food was a little off. Not spoiled or bad, but just lacked the that extra little bit that made it excellent.
Everybody is entitled to an off night. The seared sashimi lacked flavor. The steamed mussels were nothing you couldn't do at home. The mixed grill, normally an excellent hardy meal, was just so so. Just can't put my finger on it.

Aquitaine Bis brings Paris and one of Boston's favorite Bistros to the suburbs. Executive Chef Seth Woods' seasonal menu feature all the favorites and traditions of Aquitaine - Bar à Vin Bistrot in the South End along with new items created specifically for the Newton location.
We serve lunch and dinner daily including a popular brunch on both Saturday and Sunday.

"Good service, well prepared dishes, unpretentious. The latter is especially refreshing for a French eatery.
Competent bar.
Located in a shooping center---just close your eyes and go right in.
Can get pricey with drinks and dessert, but worth it.
