A most charming dining spot, the Old Angler's Inn has been immortalized in countless Washington D.C. novels as a romantic winter getaway, sitting before the fireplace and perusing the menu. It is equally glorious in the summer when the main action moves to the incomparable terrace.

"Sometimes the service at Old Anglers is "spotty". This time, it was outstanding and consistently so all evening. I took my future daughter in law to dinner and it was her first time at Old Anglers and she fell in love with the place. A late September evening for dinner outside, heat lamps making it wonderful to enjoy outdoor dining. Foie Gras and Caesar salad starts were excellent. My scallops and her meatballs were delicious and we shared a crème brulee for dessert. Wines by the glass were more than passable. Because they carded my 25 year old FDiL, which was a bit embarrassing, they brought two tawny ports to the table with our desserts on the house. It was "sweet" to do so and a perfect sweet end to finish our evening. Nice job!"

"Black's is an interesting place. For lunch, you can usually count on "pretty good" experiences. The weather was great so we ate outside and as long as you don't mind bus traffic, it's nice. The salads are always exceptional at Black's and both of us had different options with different proteins. Service started out with 5 stars and drifted down to 2 stars because we couldn't get our server's attention for over 10 minutes to get our check. Black's is also outstanding for happy hour; however, I've had unsatisfactory experiences at dinner. They are celebrating their 15 year anniversary right now, so go for happy hour or lunch!"

"Seasons 52 is my go to place. and yet it is always a toss up whether it's outstanding or good. The variations are always in service. This time, the server shorted the wine pour. Since this place has wine pouring perfected, I commented after the server completed the pour. She said nothing and did nothing to add the extra half ounce so the wine was "at the bottom of the 52" on the glass. She left. I decided not to touch the wine and return it. The manager came over. I asked HIM to do the wine pour. He did so perfectly. I thanked him and asked for a different server. He asked we give "Kate" another chance. We did and all went well after that. Such an unnecessary start to what evolved into a lovely evening with my guest."

"Arrived as a party of three just after noon. Placed lunch order at 12:05 p. Tepid coffee arrives and has to be sent back. At 12:30 p. we asked how things were coming with our lunch (3 burgers). We were told that it was "up next". At 12:45 p. we asked for our check for the coffee and tea and said we were leaving. The server said, there was a party of 15 in front of us...really? The restaurant was NOT full and patrons who arrived after us had SOME food on their table when we walked out. Choose another choice!"

"Rick is the owner. He isn't there much since they made it to Bethesda magazine. It took way too long to get a glass of wine while I waited for my husband to join me. Food came out FAST. Once my husband finished his soup (which came asap)...out came the entrees. My rockfish was o.k., but the sauce gave it a good grade. My husband's shrimp Caesar was disappointing. CLEAN YOUR SHRIMP! For goodness sakes, you are a restaurant that specializes in seafood. We brought this to the attention of the server and didn't even get an "I'm sorry", which given how often we've eaten there was all we really wanted. It was my husband's first time ordering that dish."

"This restaurant is a mile from my house. The outdoor seating area is incredible. Large. Overlooking the lake and new carousel. Tables are NOT on top of each other. Serving protocols allow anyone to take care of you whether they are "your" server or not. Food is consistently good and the pacing is solid. My go-to dish is the house salad with rotisserie chicken and adobo dressing. It never disappoints. Frankly, Copper Canyon never disappoints, because when something DOESN'T go well, they fix it - immediately."

"I'll be back. The wine list was surprising extensive. The outdoor dining and view of the USNA was unmatched. The food earned a B+; don't order anything with fried green tomatoes, though. You get "fried", you don't get much in the way of tomatoes. Service was beautifully paced!"

"Although open just since August 7, this Seasons 52 has it mastered. Great service; interesting new features on the fall menu. The lack of the 5th star on food was because the duck on the lettuce wraps was a bit dry. Putting the sauce IN the wrap instead of on the side would have helped. That is my only complaint and it isn't much of one at that!"
