The Pump Room restaurant offers reasonably priced, delicious favorites in a relaxed, comfortable, and exciting environment. The new food concept was created by Three Star Michelin rated and 2011 James Beard award winner Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Original Pump Room menu classics were reinvented and recreated by Jean-Georges providing his special touch and amazing style. He will support local purveyors and regional flavors.Offerings in the bar include small plates as well as local and international draught and bottled beer;and specialty cocktails crafted by Jean-Georges, and great music. <br />

"i see that the reviews here are mixed. i have to say I have been here 3 times now over the past 2 years and each time the meal was exceptional. the lemon pasta was great, the codfish appetizer was amazing, and the scallops were fab. it is consistently good in my book and the atmosphere is casual chic which makes a perfect backdrop for the evening."

"This seems to be a popular place that has a decent reputation at least locally. For me, it was the chicken bread that saved this meal. It was great. Other than that it was just average at best. Everything was ok, but not standout in my view."

"nice to have an option in Hickory comparable to a large city. Food is always good here, but now the brewery is open downstairs you have to prepare yourself for the strong scent of hops. It is an unfortunate distraction to the dining experience in my view."

Prosecco, in the heart of the River North Gallery District, is a chic, yet welcoming restaurant serving comfort foods from all 20 regions of Italy and Chicago's largest selection of sparkling wine. The decor, inspired by the faded, gilded beauty of Venice, is filled with silk damask drapes, carved wood chandeliers and gold-framed artwork. The coup de grace is the 35' long bar, hand burnished to resemble a piece of antique Venetian furniture. The bar serves Italian finger food and offers a wide selection of European spirits. Enjoy classic comfort foods -- from house-made pasta to nightly beef, fish and game menu additions. Dine with the Chef at the Carpaccio bar, where a selection of fresh cured and smoked meats and the freshest fish, are sliced nightly. Prices are moderate, but those wishing to indulge in an evening of culinary mischief will not be disappointed!

"this was close and convenient to work and the right price. I was surprised at the level of food quality and that I really hadn't heard much about this place. The server was extremely knowledgeable, the pasta cooked perfect, the atmosphere simply elegant and the noise level very low. It was a great place to take people have a great meal and actually hear each other talk right downtown."
