TASTE Restaurant and Wine Bar reflects Eli Zabar's passion for flavor-driven New American menus. Inspired by the finest and freshest produce, seafood, and meat available; Eli serves spontaneous flavorful food, not fussy, just straightforward and delicious. Local purveyors are favored as well as Eli's own rooftop greenhouse, which produces heirloom tomatoes, salad greens, fresh herbs, figs and strawberries. A tightly edited wine list with a focus on Burgundy and the Cote de Rhone enhances the menu and wine pairing is a defining theme on the small plate menu offered at the bar.

"If it ain't broke don't fix it. Why Eli decided to leave behind delicious fresh food, I will never know. But he did. Heirloom tomatoes so buried in stuff that they might as well been a couple of slices of wonder bread."

Little Prince is now open at 199 Prince Street in SoHo (between Sullivan St. and MacDougal St.) This new destination, featuring Chef Matt Conroy, aims to be a cozy neighborhood stand-by. Featuring classic French bistro items, the menu includes Skate Grenobloise, Bistro Chicken and Steak au Poivre, in addition to lighter fare such as Steak Tartare, Ratatouille and Mussels. Signature specials include an “off-menu” French Onion Soup Burger with caramelized onions and gruyere. Little Prince will also feature a frequently rotating beer program, highlighting unique French and local beers and seasonal French cocktails. Dramatic floral arrangements accent the light-filled space, which has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on bustling Prince Street. Caramel banquettes line the walls and the wooden bar is warmly lit by classic globe pendant lamps. Hand-painted ceramic floor tiles complete the bistro ambience.
