"Food was just okay; One of us had what was billed as beef osso bucco, which was a dried out short rib with no sauce. Another had the seafood pasta, and the third had duck- okay, nothing great.
Service was mediocre and had to wait a long time for our waiter/waitress to pick up our credit cards. I
The place used to be better."

"We were pleasantly surprised how great Chef Tony's was last week! Two had the carb cake, which they said was all crab, no filler, and I had the pasta with salmon and lobster. We shared a bread pudding dessert, which was excellent. We will definitely go back here!"

At Roof we believe that guests should be treated like family. We will always serve only the best, freshest food and we will always exceed expectations. Roof takes pride in sourcing the finest local ingredients, and serving them in an affordable way. As native Washingtonians, we are proud to serve this community because this is our home. For this reason we have partnered with local growers, farmers, dairies, and watermen to bring the best local products to share at our tables. We are very proud of our name Roof, as we will be Bethesda’s first full service Rooftop Restaurant and Bar. Our specialty cocktail list will include House Infused spirits prepared on site by our Chef and mixologist. Roof will be the areas perfect solution for a great Restaurant and gathering place. Come see Bethesda from our vantage!

"We had a great meal and six of us loved everything that we ordered. The sauces or the simple way that they cook food is outstanding. Two had steak and pommes frites, and they thought the steaks were tender and fries delicious, and the latter person was from Belgium!
The bartender is great and knows how to make cocktails that aren't on the menu. My husband, who's a harsh critic, remarked on this, our sixth visit to Roof, and having eaten at 3 other Bethesda restaurants in the last two weeks, "This is best place, by far."

"With a 7:30 Friday night reservation, you don't expect the first greeting after "Good evening," to be, "We're out of Bronzino, but you should try one of our two other new fish dishes on our menu." Then, they didn't have Campari and the waiter said, "We don't have a bread service" when one in the party asked for bread, and yet, there was bread for the mussels which one of us ordered later. The Nori tuna is still the star and the wontons were very good, but the mushroom ravioli sauce was off and the mussels were the tiniest, least meaty mussels I've ever eaten."

"It's been a while since we went here for dinner, but four of us has a good meal. The swordfish special was seasoned well, but a little overcooked, the pasta, soup, and salad were fine. The menu offered a lot of choices. The wait staff was okay, but business-like."
