Reservations are for the upstairs Izakaya only and not for the Ramen shop.

The Izakaya is a full service restaurant featuring small plates of Japanese tavern fare, as well as a full bar with cocktails, wine, beer, and a large selection of sake and Japanese spirits.

"Dishes are way too small for the pricing. One thing is tapas, the other is small plates, and then these...We had to turn the first one back because it was cold (lamb doesn't taste good cold). There is no option to get Ramen from below and that could have filled us a bit!"

Chef/Owner Robert Wiedmaier of Marcel's opens a casual, contemporary brasserie named after his younger son. The stunning space features an open steel and glass kitchen visible from three sides, set across from a unique family-style chef's table, dramatic 22-foot ceilings and a raw bar located at the end of a grand marble and walnut bar featuring an array of Belgian beers on tap to complement his French Belgian fare. Expansive outdoor patio is open April thru October. REAL certified by the US Healthful Food Council

"This is a nice, cute place with good food. However, the prices do not match the quality or the creativity of the dishes. Price for the value is off."

Vermilion features Chef William Morris' menu of Contemporary American cuisine. Complimenting Chef Morris' menu is Vermilion's wine list, named one of the top wine lists in the country by Restaurant Hospitality Magazine. Combining a charming location in Old town Alexandria with stylized design and atmosphere, Vermilion represents a bit of downtown sophistication: from the exposed brick in the upstairs dining room to the overstuffed pillows in the lounge downstairs, Vermilion holds something for all tastes.

Under the direction of renowned chef José Andrés, Zaytinya offers an innovative mezze menu inspired by Turkish, Greek and Lebanese cuisines served up in a sleek and modern setting. Shared small plates, creative cocktails and unique Mediterranean wines make this spot one of DC’s top dining destinations.

"The food was very good, however the pasta and rice portions were minuscule. A $32 risotto dish was barely half a soup ladle. It was simply ridiculous. Our neighbors had other plates and their sizes were appropriate for the pricing. With all the awesome italian restaurants in the DC area, I would skip this one unless I was not hungry."
