Derived from the Hindi word meaning passion, Junoon delivers on the promise of its moniker with an authentic, yet elegantly modern take on Indian cuisine. Restaurateur Rajesh Bhardwaj, inspired by his deep affinity and commitment to the food and culture of his native India, has assembled a talented team, who share his same vision including celebrated chef and cookbook author, Vikas Khanna, helming Junoon's kitchen as Executive Chef.

Don't forget to peak into Junnon's one-of-a-kind Spice Room where an array of fresh spices are ground daily and made into a unique blend to be used in the marinades and sauces for the day.

"Service was outstanding, décor and setting are clearly a step above most Indian restaurants. An app called Lamb "kebob" ($20) was really a plated, beautifully presented dish of several pieces of perfectly cooked, tender meat, with no kabob skewer in sight. That was the highlight dish. Other dishes were all fine, but in light of the prices ($14 for dal, $26 for mediocre chicken biryani) we expected mind-blowing food. Go here if you want to impress a date or a client. Go elsewhere if you just want good Indian food at reasonable prices."

"Some folks here were dressed to impress, others were in jeans and sneakers. It's a fun mix, but the food is the reason to get a rez. We were pleasantly surprised that the Chicken Under a Brick is available in a half portion, so my wife and I were able to try that (which a NY Times review said was the best dish here) and the black bass. Both were excellent, but the chicken will not blow your mind as I had hoped. Two pastas starters, one a special with white truffles, were both outstanding."

Blaue Gans meaning "blue goose" is Chef Gutenbrunner's reproduction of an authentic Austrian "Wirtshaus" in his own Tribeca neighborhood. Blaue Gans serves seasonal authentic Austro-German dishes with wonderful beers and wines. The perfect neighborhood spot for friends and families.

"Four of us went here partly because of a NY Times recommendation about the weiner schnitzel. Overall, it's a fun place and it's fine if you are in the neighborhood. But the schnitzel was disappointing -- it was nicely prepared but my piece was full of gristle and difficult to eat."

"Even a simple dish like house made rigatoni with pomodoro sauce was completely satisfying. Michael White knows how to make patrons happy. There are no bargains here but you are assured of receiving superior food with professional service."

"We have dined here several times. It is not high end food, but almost everything we've tried has been good or very good -- and you really can't go wrong with their perfectly grilled, always fresh, whole fish. But this time my wife ordered the lemon-chicken soup, and I'm sorry to say it was a tasteless, gloppy mess. We tried adding salt, then pepper, but nothing helped. So stay away from that, enjoy their other fine dishes, and you'll have a pleasant time."

"Let's start off by saying the odds are high that you will have a thoroughly satisfying meal at B&D. However, when the prices are this high ($9 for a side of fried onions) you expect superior food at every turn. That's not always the case. An app of creamy burrata cheese and tomatoes was marred by hard, ice-cold tomatoes. The Chateaubriand ($84 for two, with nothing else) was tender as expected but a bit disappointing; it is a filet mignon cut and while I know that is not as flavorful as other steaks, this one was bland, seemingly lacking any seasoning at all. (That said, it was a large piece of meat and we took home enough for two more meals! I can add salt and pepper myself.)"

"Despite this being a fairly large establishment (it's larger than it first appears, due to side rooms) Chef Rocco still frequently has time to come out to talk to ihs patrons. Our party of three, there for a business dinner, never looked at the menu, we just went with his suggestions, and we were mightily pleased."

"Although this is a French resto, don't expect it to duplicate meals you had in Lyon. Meaning, you will get some very delicious food (a special pasta of the day, ravioli stuffed with wild mushrooms and ricotta, was outstanding) but it has been somewhat Americanized. So keep your expectations in check and enjoy this cozy UWS spot."

"Our third time there. Excellent food, but the service, while friendly, is lacking. On a Sunday night there seemed to be just one waiter and two assistants for the entire restaurant. We go there for the high quality food (that part of the equation has never disappointed) and even better, we had forgotten about the $30 Sunday prix fixe dinner -- a truly outstanding bargain. But this was the second time that we had oh-so--long waits between visits from our waiter."
