Café Colore offers welcome refuge from the busy pace of downtown Denver. Located in Lodo’s Writer Square, this neighborhood provides a perfect backdrop for casual fine dining in a Euro-style café with indoor and outdoor seating. You'll find an eclectic mix of customers - all drawn by the uptown food offered at easy-on-the-pocketbook prices. Better yet, the sidewalk seating faces both 15th and Larimer Streets, providing the best people-watching in downtown Denver. Everything served here is prepared to order, starting with doughs, sauces and dressings that are made from scratch daily. Furthermore, most pastas and all pizzas can be ordered gluten-free, so feel comfortable about bringing friends, coworkers or family members of every dietary need. Then prepare to be dazzled by the menu of marvelous pastas, pizzas, calzones, soups, salads, Italian entrees and desserts. Cafe Colore has won many accolades "Best Pesto Pizza", "Best Sit Down Pizzeria" and "Best Alfresco Dining" to name a few.

"I had the Seafood FraDiavolo from the dinner menu. It was good, but not spectacular. My friend had the Chicken Piccata, which she said was very good. The man sitting at the table next to mine ordered the Braised Beef Short Rib, which looked awesome. I asked him how it was and he said it was delicious. I may try that the next time. I also ordered the Peach Bread Pudding for dessert. I love bread pudding when it's done right, but this was not it. Far from it. To me, it had the texture and flavor of a leftover cinnamon roll that had just come out of the microwave. If that's how they normally do it, then I definitely do not recommend it. I was trying to sell my friend onto bread pudding, which she has never had, but alas, this was not the place to do it. I would try other dessert options at my next visit."

"I've had dinner at YaYa's several times and have always enjoyed my meals there, but this was the first time I had brunch. Although it was nothing special, I thought it was pretty good for the price. There was an adequate selection of pasta, veggie and fruit salads; standard breakfast items like bacon and sausage; cocktail shrimp, mussels and crab legs; and a variety of sweet treats to top off the meal. There's also an omelette and prime rib station, and you can also order items like French toast and eggs benedict off the menu. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. My server was efficient and attentive."

Café Mercato, located in Denver, is a brand-new modern Italian restaurant, owned and operated by Giancarlo Macchiarella of Locanda del Borgo Mercato’s light and airy atmosphere and design permeates throughout the modern space. With a large open kitchen and large wine “library”, you will feel right at home sipping on a glass of select wine while watching the chefs create your meal. The menu at Café Mercato is based on Southern Italian fare with a lighter approach. All of the pastas and sausages are made in-house, as well as gelato and desserts. Enjoy homemade pizza from our over imported from Italy and other selections from our wood-fire grill. Come visit us with your family and friends for our “family-style” specials, happy hour, or a satisfying Sunday Brunch. Bon appétit!

"As with Locanda del Borgo, which is owned by the same people, Cafe Mercato offers good Italian fare but limited dessert options. Our group of four enjoyed our entrees very much. However, the dessert menu was completely uninspired and lacked originality. My friend ordered the house-made pistachio gelato, which had barely a hint of pistachio, although the waiter claimed she got the right one. I ordered the panna cotta gelato, which was kind of blah also. We did not try the other dessert items, but none looked particularly interesting."

"Had dinner there while visiting Charleston. I had the she-crab soup (good) and seared scallops with risotto (excellent). My friend had the spinach salad (very good) and seafood chowder (good, but too much potatoes). We also had the poached mussels appetizer, which was OK. I don't think anything stood out in particular, but we enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was very attentive and efficient."
