Macon Bistro & Larder is a locally owned neighborhood restaurant serving re-invented bistro cuisine in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Chef Tony Brown, inspired by his southern roots and his world travels, brings together the cooking styles of Macon, Georgia, and Macon, France, to create classically delicious dishes - all served with a side of southern hospitality. Macon, in the historic Arcade Building in Chevy Chase, opens for dinner daily at 5:00pm.

"Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, though our party of 5 was awkwardly seated by the kitchen door. The restaurant is small, but the waitstaff is energetic. Interesting, unexpected wine selection. When I was not happy with my taste of the pinot noir, the waiter offered me an alternate selection more to my liking. Loved the savory cheesecake with pickled peaches; chicken and collards; green tomatoes with pork belly and charcuterie board.
Would definitely go back, but plan to request a more relaxing table."

From the team behind Ripple in Cleveland Park, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Roofers Union, a new restaurant now open in Adams Morgan. The menu at Roofers Union will showcase chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley's take on casual tavern fair inside a neighborhood restaurant and bar.

The bar program will focus on craft beers and cocktails as well as 10 to 12 wines by the glass on a moderately priced list from around the world.

A cozy and relaxed first level houses a cocktail-centric bar with 24 seats, while the main level features floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the restaurant with natural light and of Adams Morgan’s bustling 18th Street. The vibrant dining room will offer full service with a range of seating options including a revamped 20- seat bar, tables for large groups, and banquets.
"This is a great bar/restaurant. The menu is fun, innovative bar food with options to please all palates. The roof offers a great view of Adams Morgan, where it's fun just to stand at the rail and watch the world go by. But if the roof is full, or Washington weather is oppressive, you can still get a great view from the second floor dining room. Great mixed drinks too -- Don't miss the Road to Eldorado if you like a good ginger bite to your cocktails. The hostesses and waitstaff are helpful, cool and attentive, making it all around a fun casual dining experience."
