This grand Victorian saloon is on two levels, with four distinctive bars, including an oyster bar, and six dining rooms. Open for dinner til late in the evening, it is the perfect spot before or after a Verizon Center event, movie or the theatre, and is open for lunch and dinner daily, as well as Saturday and Sunday brunch. Be sure to check out our newest addition, The Alley Bar, on your next visit.

"Clydes Gallery Place is my favorite place to eat before going to a basketball game at the Verizon Center. Great kale-Quinoa chicken salad!"

Since 1999, Chef Wiedmaier infuses his Belgian heritage into Marcel's elegant haute French flagship restaurant. Regularly topping the best-of-lists in the nation's capital, in 2011 and 2012, it was rated the top restaurant for food by Zagat as well as one of the top five restaurants for service.

"For years, Marcels has appeared as a top-rated restaurant. On two separate occasions, I have been unimpressed. Good, but not great. We arrived at 5:45 and ordered the pre-theatre menu, because we had tickets for a 7:30 performance at the Kennedy Center. The appetizers were outstanding, but the pork loin entree was dry and the duck breast was tough. The desserts were very good.
The appetizers arrived quickly, but there was a long lag before the serving of the entrees, and we couldn't help but think the waiter was waiting for us to finish our wine to order another glass, which we did not want to do.. It resulted in us requesting the check before the dessert course was served so that we would not be late for the performance.
