"I came here for Mad Men Restaurant Week for Lunch. I was VERY excited becuase I have been wanting to come and check this place out for ages.
My reservation was for 1PM, i was seated right away, my guest did not arrive until 1:35 and in that 35 minutes i did not have one person approach my table. I would have loved to order a drink while i waited, or maybe a little nibble off of the regular menu. BUT, not one waityer or busboy stopped to inquire if they could bring me anything. I actually had to stop a busboy to ask him to send the waiter over once my guest did arrive. and when he got to the table all he said was "can i take your order" I mean seriously, no apology, no explanation, no nothing. when we joked about being behind a pole so maybe noone knew we were there, the waiter said, oh, its really busy...it really wasnt BTW.
we ordered (Chicken soup was kinda gross, but the Meatloaf was AMAZING and the Chicken Pot pie was just ok) our sodas took 15 minutes to come to the table, and the glass was 3/4 full with tepid soda & 2 cubes of ice, VERY DISAPPOINTING. we werent ever asked if we wanted a refill and when time came to pay the bill i had to once more chase down the waiter. we could have walked out thru the coffee shop if we were that kind of people and none would have been the wiser for probably 20 minutes or so.
For such a nice looking place, you should definitely upgrade your waitstaff and have them pay more attention to the diners."

More festive than a piñata stuffed with a mariachi band and twice as stylish, Calle Ocho’s lively crowd is amped up on Mojitos, Caipirinhas, Sangria and Spanish wine or beer and shows no sign of slowing down. Those not willing or able to holler over the salsa music retire to the two small lounge areas to commiserate. The bar area is a prelude to their Nuevo Latino cuisine in the dining room that will knock your taste buds for a loop. If you’re in need of a quick jump-start, Calle Ocho will get your motor running.

"I made my reservation several (at least 5) weeks in advance for my birthday on January 17th. I figured if i did it in advance i could have a nice Sangria Brunch with a bunch of my friends to start the birthday celebrations. As i was making my reservation (i started at 6 people at 1PM) the closest availability it gave me was 2 people at 2.30. i tried a few more times to change the amount of people to no avail. I even called to try and change it...no dice. So imagine my disappointment when i arrived with my ONE friend at 2.30 to find the TWO tables next to us completely empty for the next 2 hours.
The food was great, the Sangria was even better, they brought out a complimentary desert with a candle...and that was fabulous. BUT...I still would have liked to have had the rest of my friends there with us...especially since there was apparently PLENTY of room.
I'll be back again for sure...maybe I'll make my reservation now for April. :-("
