Welcome to Beckett's. We have taken a great deal of time and effort to try and create an authentic Irish Pub. Our menu is a collaboration of items from old Ireland to modern Ireland. We are trying to present to you an example of what we loved to eat growing up in Ireland and what is now popular from some of our favorite haunts back home. We promise to offer you the freshest produce, and source as much as we can from local suppliers. We have a mixture of staff from local talent, to staff that we brought over from Ireland. We would like you to think of us as your stepping stone to Ireland. Our ambassadors will try and answer all your questions on Ireland while serving you great comfort food and premium drinks in a warm environment.

"Beckett's was not quite up to the challenge of the Thursday night outdoor party in Shirlington. The food was just a good as always but the service was disappointing. We are usually wowwed by all the staff at Beckett's, from a friendly greeting upon arrival to extra measures of service from the waitstaff. Thursday night was noisy and crowded, overwhelmed by loud and sub-standard "jazz" (not Becketts' fault), and the hostess was cold, uncooperative, and argumentative even though we had a reservation. The server was not one of the knowledgable and professional Irish charmers, and he just could not keep up with demand. One ordered dish was missing and beverage delivery was slow to failed. We'll be back - but not on a busy night."

Located in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, between Old Town and Crystal City, the Evening Star Cafe is known for exceptional food, friendly but professional service and an inviting 'retro chic and funky' atmosphere. Both a classic neighborhood restaurant and a destination for diners throughout the Washington Metropolitan area, the Evening Star features sophisticated and eclectic American food, one of the region's most appealing and best-priced wine lists, and two separate lounges.

"We had not been to Evening Star in several years and were delighted to get a reservation for a Friday evening sitting outside. The food and service were just as good if not better than years ago with the prior chef. The pork is still wonderful and the wine list, drawing on the co-owned wine store next door, is fantastic. Endless options and excellent values. Likewise the long and varied beer list, with large and small size options. The bread includes extraordinary sweet potato rolls, which are enough reason to come here. We had two disappointments: the crispy kale would have been great but was much too salty, and the frites with the steak & frites suffered from the same oversalting. All 4 of us agreed, not edible with that much salt."

701 is a modern American restaurant with exquisite food framed by an elegant decor. Join us in our bar & lounge for our signature cocktails and small plates or dine with us in our sumptuous dining room. During the spring & summer, our patio is tucked onto the Navy Memorial plaza, with splashing fountains providing a very Parisian feel.

We offer pre-theater menus if you are going to a show, light fare in the lounge, and lunch at the bar specials for those tight on time. Our lunch menu is a favorite among business clientele; dinner is perfect for a special occasion or simply a special night out.

"We have been going to 701 since they opened decades ago. The food was very good, as we expect from this restaurant group and at this price point. But the service was terrible. We sat outside and after a long delay our order was taken. We reminded the waiter that we had a show at 8. The drinks and first course were slow but finally came. And then a long wait for the main courses. The waiter never came back, although he served other people on the patio. Another server passed by, said the food was coming, but it did not appear. Finally, we got the food but had to eat quickly to make our show. The manager came over and apologized, but was unclear whether it was the kitchen or the waiter or a bit of both. She comped us for the valet."

Brx is a place where you can take your family or meet with your friends for some quality time and good food and drink. We wanted to create an atmosphere where people could gather casually in a sophisticated, yet down to earth locale. Brx's large dining room and outdoor patio offer a casual and comfortable ambiance to enjoy our American cuisine influenced by your favorite comfort foods. Our casual bar area is the perfect place for a glass of wine from our extensive wine list, or a round of beers with friends. "Brx is always a mixed experience. The outdoor patio is comfortable, quiet, and protected from rain. The wine list is excellent, if somewhat pricey, and the wine is perfectly maintained. Service is pleasant and competent. But, I am sorry to say, the food is too inconsistent to justify the high price point. The flatbread was great. The burger was ok but not special. My salad with tuna was ok, but the tuna appeared to have been pre-cut and frozen and then thawed to be place on the salad. The least imaginative preparation I have had. Our check for two was $150, of which $100 was for the food. Way too much for these items and this ho-hum preparation."

A cabin-style watering hole with amazing food and drink, Copperwood Tavern is your oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city. Specializing in seasonal American small plates, we feature prime cuts of local game, farm-raised poultry, beef and fresh fish accompanied with hearty, family-style sides.

"There's no "wow" to Copperwood, but that's fine. It was interesting food, well-prepared, and fairly priced. The service was quite good and it was delightful to eat outside. The interior looked nice too. Good wine list and charming sommelier. Varied options for small plates as well as entrees. Everyone found something they liked, although they should add some interesting non-alcoholic drinks for the designated drivers in the party."

"We are tired of the crowded and noisy 7th street options and opted instead for the reliable, professional 701 before we went to a great show at Woolly Mammoth. We had a lovely, quiet table and overall good service. The wine choices were good, and the food selection was balanced and varied. Everything we had was very good with the notable exception of the salmon, which we ordered welldone and cooked through but received underdone and soft. We complained and the waiter said that's the way it was supposed to be - so why didn't he tell us at the outset that they could not cook it to our order? Despite his objections, he removed the fish and the charge for it, which we appreciated. And we loved the jazz combo."

"It has become difficult to find a good restaurant near the Strip but not in one of those smoky, noisy, and over-priced options in the casinos/hotels. Fortunately Ferraro's has survived and is still a great choice for very good Italian food, with lovely indoor and outdoor seating and excellent service. The wine list is very good, and the pastas are excellent. The location on Paradise @ Harmon is very convenient but apart from the disappointing options in the hotels. Ferraro's is not cheap, but it is an excellent value for the quality, quantity, and ambience."

"Once again we chose Bombay Club for a special occasion and were not disappointed. The decor and ambience are lovely. The service is professional and knowledgable. And the food is excellent, for all fans of Indian cuisine. They have unusual items not available on most indian menus. The bread is particularly delicious without being greasy. Be sure to order the chutneys as they compliment the foods nicely especially if you order spicy dishes. If you are celebrating a birthday, sit near the piano and they play Happy Birthday when they bring your complementary dessert."
