Seasonal & Delicious.

With Paul Martin's American Grill, Brian Bennett and restaurateur Paul Fleming have realized a long-nurtured dream to create the restaurant "we've always wished was in our neighborhood."

At the heart of all great food is fresh, local, peak of the season ingredients. Paul Martin's aims to serve diners the best ingredients with meat raised in a humane and wholesome way, locally sourced produce, the best of both wild and farmed fish, artisan cheeses and cured meats from small local purveyors. The deep California-centric wine list twists and turns, by glass or bottle, through the Golden State's vineyards, with an occasional stop for an Oregon Pinot Gris or a Washington dry Riesling. Behind Paul Martin's elegantly rustic bar is an interesting array of craft beer and spirited cocktails with fresh garnishes. Good times and thoughtful food are a way of life at Paul Martin's American Grill.

"This was not my first time at the restaurant & the food has always been good. There was an exception last time when the entree I ordered differed from everyone else's generous portion. The usual portions are ample but my black cod was teeny-tiny. Given the cost my fish should have taken more than 4 bites. The service from our waiter was excellent. The other problem is that they don't manage busy evenings well. With a reservation the wait can be 15-25 mins. Part of is that they assume anyone will happily sit outside (in this climate pleasant outdoor dining is a rarity, w/heat lamp or curtains included). This assumption added to being unrealistic about how much time it takes to finish a meal results in an annoying waiting around situation."

"We don't eat Korean food often (read almost never) but when I read the reviews for this place I wanted us to try it. Modern-Korean sounded delicious so we decided that we would make a reservation. We had a number of dishes, including pork belly, seafood, noodles etc and everything was very good. The one item that did not really stand out and could be something that was quickly pulled together at home was a salad (with cabbage etc). The place was way smaller than I thought it would be but that was not a problem as we were starving and a delicious Asian meal fit the bill"

We are a great neighborhood secret on the south end of town. We offer a variety of fresh fun food from our open display kitchen. We have a hardwood oven for great appetizers and flatbreads. Fresh Alaskan seafood and produce arrives daily and Chef Travis creates great innovative daily specials. Save room for our fantastic home-made desserts. We are proud recipients of the "Wine Spectators" Award of excellence 10 years in a row. Southside Bistro offers the "Restaurant" side with the complete dinner menu available, and the more casual "Bistro" side with an additional Pizza-burger menu available. Please go to our web site and see our complete menu selections.

"This place had excellent reviews so that is why we made a reservation while visiting Anchorage. When we parked outside I was a little doubtful because it is a regular strip mall and you cannot see into the restaurant. When we walked in though the hostess was very pleasant and we were seated promptly after checking in with our reservation. Our waiter was excellent, gave good recommendations and the food was simply WOW! Don't miss this gem"
