"Great for a snack before going to the Kennedy center. Area a bit dingy, specially the entrance, but the food was good; the fried fish and chips were great. Menu is not very large and food is not cheap; there is a lot of shell fish options. Free parking, a huge plus."

"The restaurant is very charming and the food is usually pretty good, but best of all, it is close to home. It is known for the pop overs, which this time took about an hour to show up. In general the service was really slow; fortunately we were not in a hurry and we actually liked that we were not rushed. Other times we might have been frustrated. I was glad to see that the place was full, but something may have to be done about the service. The waiter, however, was not to blame and he was trying his best."

BRIO (meaning "lively" or "full of life") is a "polished casual" restaurant serving authentic, northern Italian cuisine. The subtitle, "Tuscan Grille" is descriptive for a menu that features oven-roasted steaks, chops, and seafood; similar to what one would find in an authentic ristorante in Tuscany. BRIO's philosophy of "to eat well, is to live well" is why they only use the finest and freshest ingredients. BRIO brings the pleasure of a Tuscan country villa to the American city. "Every pasta dish we tried has been excellent, particularly the ravioli; the sauces are savory, servings are generous, enough to take home in some cases, and the chopped salad for under $5 with the main dish is a bargain; it is way above the usual supermarket bought greens you get in many other places. The bread is fresh and warm.
Covered parking is extremely convenient. The area is relatively new and getting around may be a bit confusing but it is worth finding.
Great place.

"The 3 stars are for the rockfish, which was excellent; the others found the lamb burger too spicy and the steak burger not that great, and they forgot to leave the salad dressing on the side and did not leave out the yogurt which my friend did not want; this is a common problem; rude as it may sound, I think one should always repeat the request loudly twice. Then again, it might not be the waiter's fault but the kitchen's.
The weather was miserable, and although we were able to park underground, which is not free as they informed us, but we still got a discount; and we still had to walk outside in order to get to the restaurant. The Roundhouse theater is not too far, but it is a couple of long blocks. The theater does have very convenient parking nearby, however, which is free after a certain time.
They still have to work on a few things."

Inspired to create a casual Italian restaurant in their own neighborhood, the culinary team behind Washington, DC’s award-winning Ristorante Tosca opened the doors to Posto, “a modern Italian place to meet,” in December 2008. It is located in a beautiful, century-old building (which at one time was a car dealership!) on the newly re-energized 14th St. NW – right next door to The Studio Theater, and just steps away from P St. and its hubbub of activity. As a proud new addition to the Logan Circle neighborhood, Posto serves classic and modern Italian dishes, and is the perfect place to drop in for a cocktail and a quick bite, or a multi-course meal shared with friends. A custom-built, wood-burning oven located in the back of the dining room entices guests with the smells of just-baked Neapolitan style pizzas and focaccia.

"We had the pre-theater special. The restaurant is perfectly located, just a few steps away from the Studio theater. We picked up the tickets first .That was a good move.
The salad was small but perfect since it really is not a good idea to eat a lot before the show. The branzini was terrific, as were the vegetables it was served with, some mixture of spinach and onions, and I don't know what else. The gelato was very good as well; again, no huge servings, but just adequate for the occasion, and well priced.
Just a great place; not too noisy, unpretentious, efficient service, good food. Will be back.
