With the look and feel of one of the "Great Camps" of the Adirondacks, Tower Oaks Lodge serves an American-style saloon menu. Adjacent to a 21-acre nature preserve, Tower Oaks Lodge is located just off I-270. The raw bar features oysters from both coasts.

"We have never been disappointed but not always thrilled. The fish is always good; the crab cakes were met with indifference. Filet Mignon not that exciting. Service was a bit indifferent this time, though usually very good.
Loud place; the sound tends to bounce off the walls, at least in the room we were; I believe the other room, where they have regular tables, not booths, is quieter. Stay away from the bar, specially during world cup.
Suggestion: when you see a very old lady coming in, do not seat her near the bar.

"We all had a different experience. The duck was very well received, but the serving size of the souffle off foie gras, was too large and not that great. The trout was just ok but I was disappointed that the accompanying side of tagliatelle was unavailable, maybe a Monday problem, so they gave an extra amount of vegetables. The steak was a big hit, as well as the scallops. The highlight of the evening was the rhubarb dessert; that was awesome.
I was sorry that I did not order some of the more original items on the menu; maybe next time.
All in all it is a very pleasant restaurant in the middle of bustling Silver Spring, and the parking garage is just adjacent. Service was friendly and attentive.
Worth a second visit.

"Located in a strip mall, no parking problems and near Balducci's and other restaurants, including the relatively new Wildwood restaurant. Both are good but Oakville Grille has a better choice of fish dishes. We ordered and would recommend the salmon, the seafood risotto, the spinach salad. I had the Chilean sea bass, which in itself was very well prepared, but I found the sauce a bit overwhelming and the side of spinach over salted. The bread was a hit.
Service was very attentive and although we stayed a bit longer than usual, nobody made any motions to encourage us to leave. Restaurant is not too big and the atmosphere is subdued; no loud music here.
We have eaten here several time and will continue to do so.

"The fish of the day, a sea bass cooked in a paper wrap, was outstanding; mildly flavored with "many many spices", as the waiter answered when asked what kind, was very soft and tasteful. So was the duck; and the tiramisu was outstanding.
Considering how busy it was, we were seated right away and service was fast and efficient, . The bread was an original: shredded buttered slices which required a second helping.
Add the easy parking and you get a winner. It is a quiet strip mall, with nice shops which should be visited during the day. There is nothing to walk to after dinner except Balducci's, a high end supermarket where you can get some wine and cheese to enjoy either before or after.
We should go back.

"I should learn not to trust the online menus. This one had shrunk by about 5 main dishes. That was because it was Sunday, we were told, a day when a lot of restaurants are tired. My salad was basically lettuce, nothing special, but the Caesar's salad was well received as was the hamburger with the egg on top. Fries are extra and so is the basketful of day old slices for $3. The steak was soft and tasty and done right but came just warm. I had a thin vegetable soup. The dessert was not memorable; slices of sponge cake a bit too dry which had lost its fruit flavor a while ago.
The place was busy, the light very dim and the service very slow. All in all, perhaps it performs better during the week but I don't think we are going to find out.
