"This was our first time at Flemings. Zack, your waiter, was very accommodating as we wanted to take our time and enjoy our evening. He also was very knowledgeable & answered all our menu questions. We started with appetizers of the shrimp cocktail & the burrata....both absolutely delicious. All week, I had my mind set on a great, dry-aged ribeye steak, so I was very disappointed to hear they were out of the dry-aged that night!!! Now this was 6pm, on a Wed evening during PEAK tourist season (Spring baseball training camps open next week), so for an establishment such as big & well-known as Fleming's, that's a huge "no-no". I settled for the "regular" ribeye with Kona coffee rub & my wife ordered the petite filet mignon with porcini mushroom rub. My wife absolutely loved her steak...done to perfection & very tasty. My ribeye was so crusted on the outside I struggled to cut into it, and once I got through the crust, the steak...medium rare...was very tough to chew and over-powered by a very spicy flavor, which I was told was the Kona coffee rub.....hmmmm - the Kona coffee I've had with breakfast was never spicy??? I told Zack that I did not want the steak & he immediately asked if he could bring a new one, as did the manager who came to our table shortly thereafter. At that point, I admit I was not in the best of moods after them not having the dry-aged ribeye, being given a steak that was tough and overly spiced. Besides by that time my wife was almost done eating, so I declined as I didn't want to wait & then eat alone. The manager kept coing by & asking what I wanted him to do to make it right. To me that's a managers job....to know what to do & what to offer a dissatisfied customer...not the other way around & I told him that. They did comp us 2 desserts and as we were about to leave....almost as an after-thought, the manager gave us a $100 gift card. Needless to say, Flemings will not make our "Favorites" list. We may not even used the gift card."

"This was our 3rd visit to Sumo Maya in 2 months. What more can I say??? We love the place and will continue coming back. The variety is amazing and the quality remains the same - high!!! We tried a few new things this time - the Vietnamese "Shaking Beef" was amazing. Tender pieces of filet mignon wok seared with a superb mirin/Serrano chili-lime sauce. The Chicharron De Pollo was fabulous.....crispy with salsa & mustard miso. We also tried the Maya Roll. My wife was hesitant because it had raw ahi tuna in it, but she absolutely loved it. Our server Jordan was amazing...making several spot-on recommendations we very much enjoyed. The only glitch was at the front check-in but that has been corrected. So the big question we have is "When will we return for our 4th visit!!!!""

"After the wonderful time we had here back in December 2014 we had to take a couple of friends so they could enjoy the fabulous food, great variety & excellent service. We were not disappointed so I think we have 2 new SumoMaya "converts"!!! We once again concentrated on sharing small plates as our friends had not experienced this kind of dining. This time we took our time so we did not get full fast. SumoMaya has moved into our Top 5 places to dine in Scottsdale!!"

"Went to SumoMaya for the first time and it won't be the last. We were seated immediately and our server, Jeanette, gave us a quick SumoMaya 101 orientation on how best to order...1 or 2 small plates at a time, with a break between orders, until we were satisfied. We did just that....well kinda. The menu selection was amazingly varied and had Asian specialties, Mexican specialties and mixed Asian/Mexican fusion specialties. While enjoying cocktails, we started with the BACON GUACAMOLE served with freshly fried & crispy tortillas. Fabulous!!!! We then moved on to share a couple of Sumo Rolls - ROLLO CHINGON which was one of those Asian/Mexican fusion items...grilled shrimp, guac, cilantro, jalapeno served with red lotus root chips and the SUMO GREEN ROLL - largely Asian with a variety of green veggies served with green tomatillo salsa. Both rolls were absolutely delicious and full of flavors. Finally, we then shared BACON WRAPPED MEDJOOL DATES stuffed with Oaxaca cheese & chorizo and ROCK SHRIMP TEMPURA with spicy mayo, snow peas and black truffle vinaigrette. Two totally different plates, but they complimented each other very well. At that point we should have stopped but we both HAD to try dessert, ordering the Warm Carrot Cake & the Flan Cheesecake.....heavenly! Our server Jeanette was fabulous, friendly & very knowledgeable. Even though I think it's a little pricey for tapas-style portions, we definitely will return because it was SO good and there are so many other items on the menu we want to try. Next visit we will take more time on each plate and take a break between ordering plates as this time we definitely ordered too quickly ...even though Jeanette warned us not to. As a result, were somewhat uncomfortably full at the end of our evening. Live and learn!!!"
