The Liberty Tavern offers rustic, modern American cuisine in a historic 1907 building that has been beautifully restored and updated. Featuring an inviting street level bar and an intimate dining room on the second level, The Liberty Tavern offers an affordable, diverse wine list, creative specialty cocktails, and a great selection of premium draft and bottled beer. The comfortable, timeless ambiance will be enhanced by warm, hospitable service. Whether you’re joining us for a round of drinks in the bar, a casual midweek supper with your children, or a special evening with friends and family, you’ll be sure to feel at home. Liberty To-Go offers a separate carry-out entrance on Irving Street where wood-fired pizzas, grilled panini, fresh salads and other specialties will be conveniently offered for enjoyment at home.

"We celebrated our friend's birthday with Brunch at Liberty Tavern. We had been there before but not for brunch. Wow, there is an endless supply of delicious items on the brunch tables upstairs, the variety was amazing and the food was wonderful, of course. Save room for desserts. All in all, everything was delicious and the value was great. Pay one price and you get quite a bit to enjoy."

Farmers Fishers Bakers is a full service upscale casual restaurant with an in-house bakery, sushi bar, full bar with 24 beer taps, and patio with water views. We support the American Family Farm along with made-from-scratch food, delicious hand crafted drinks, and green practices all around.

The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.

"We returned to Farmers Fishers Bakers after a great experience last October. We were not disappointed! I had soup of the day which was a bowl of incredible gazpacho, followed by a perfectly cooked Bacon-onion-blue burger with tiny bits of bacon, caramelized onions, blue cheese. Mmm. My companions enjoyed a thin crust tomato pizza, Fried Brussels Sprouts & Blue Cheese salad that was richly flavored and quite tasty, followed by an amazing Death by Chocolate Brownie Sundae and well crafted Cappuccinos. A great assortment of beers, they make their own sodas. Best of all, our server, Veronica, was fabulous. Always attentive and ready to offer suggestions, we enjoyed having her insights. Great view of the fountains, it was a perfect meal."

Columbia Firehouse, is a modern American brasserie and bar. The 120 seat first floor focuses on familiar comfort food, a nifty raw bar, small plates for sharing, steamed mussels and fresh salads, sandwiches and suppers. Meanwhile, work will continue on the second floor with a space destined to become a stylish, intimate chop house.

"We had a last minute idea to go to lunch and picked The Columbia Firehouse in Old Town Alexandria. We had been here years ago when it was Portner's. We were greeted warmly, had a wonderful server and the food was delicious. Great atmosphere, everyone was very kind and again, great food!"

Quote as “unpretentious but stylish”, Le Chat Noir, casual bistro-style with Parisian left-bank feel features classic, traditional French cuisine and a large selection of savory and sweet crepes. The Wine Lounge atop Le Chat Noir restaurant pays homage to vintage -- wine-making and a retrospect to Comics Black & White silent films. With an impressive wine list and a wide-range of cocktails for you to choose from, it is a place to share an intimate moment. Cozy home-like ambiance, we look forward to nourishing you and tantalizing your taste buds in our art nouveau inspired Restaurant and Lounge.

"We celebrated our anniversary with two friends at Le Chat Noir and were glad we chose it - a lovely French restaurant, very reasonably priced with excellent food and superb service. We sat out front on the glassed in porch and enjoyed the closest thing to a Paris sidewalk café you can get in DC. Everything was delicious, especially notable were the appetizer crepes. The wine list has great choices that are not outrageously priced. Easy to park in the local streets, no issues there. All in all, a pleasant surprise and yes, we'll be back."
