What was once an authentic 19th century English Pub has become one of The Broadmoor's most vibrant dining destinations. Fantastic pub fare (including The Bee's famous Fish & Chips), yards of ale and plenty of English charm are just a few of the reasons guests enjoy the lively atmosphere at our cheerful British pub.

"If you are at the Broadmoor and want a more casual and affordable option, try the Golden Bee. Good beers on tap and friendly service."

Designed by acclaimed architect Adam D. Tihany, Summit's contemporary design is inspired by the grandeur of Pike's Peak and provides a stunning counterpoint to the classic elegance of The Broadmoor. Wood, metal, glass, leather and fabrics are used throughout the dining room to evoke a modern, yet natural feel suited perfectly to Summit's bold American Brasserie menu and innovative wine and cocktail program.

It all starts with the finest American ingredients and produce found seasonally around the country, which is combined with classical cooking techniques. Whether it's Colorado corn in September, Nantucket Bay scallops in November, or heirloom tomatoes from the heartland in the summer, Summit's stellar menu of year-round favorites and ever-evolving seasonal selections finds strength in a vibrant nationwide network of top-shelf vendors that provide the kitchen with the best possible ingredients.

"Another great meal at the Summit. The shareable appetizer, tartiflette of reboucholon cheese and potatoes was delicious and filling. The haddock meuniere was good, but overly citrusy. Skipped dessert because the portions sizes were too large for us. The wine list is extensive and varied. This is a classy restaurant, with exceptionally fine service. Get a reservation or you may not get in."

"While in La Jolla, we had eaten at an affiliated restaurant (Whisknladle) and because it was so good, we had to try Prep Kitchen in Little Italy. It lived up to expectations. Everything is prepared fresh –this is farm to table Italian at its best. But to start, the hand crafted cocktails should not be missed. The Old Fashions were enjoyed by several in our thirsty party. The Oaxacan Old Fashioned was a spirited, yet delightful twist on an old favorite and the Champagne Cocktail was a refreshing way for one of us to wind down. For first courses the burrata with prosciutto and watercress was amazing with its mouthwatering flavors. A dinner partner who the squid ink capellini said it was the best he’d ever eaten. The seared albacore and avocado was fresh and cooked to perfection as was the yellowtail. Dessert was a panna cotta that was rich and creamy. Good selection of affordable, drinkable Californian wines. One thing that puzzled me was the limited selection of Italian wine – just seemed very few for an Italian themed food restaurant. Overall good service, a tasty, healthy meal, at affordable prices in a great location. Get a reservation and discover this gem in Little Italy."

Welcome to CUCINA urbana, a casual Italian American Neighborhood Kitchen and Wine Shop located in the heart of Banker's Hill. The menu highlights the cuisines of various Italian regions with a distinct California ‘farm to table’ flair for which the Urban Kitchen Group has become known. Chef Joe Magnanelli is excited to preview his Italian heritage and create dishes that are fresh, simple and seasonal. Items include: antipasti, artisan pizza, pasta and piatti. Enjoy wine by the glass or visit the Wine Spectator award-winning wine shop and select a bottle from over 100 selections at retail price ($8 corkage fee applies). The space features contemporary elements and vintage artifacts creating the feel of a modern Italian kitchen combined with the history and comfort of an old rustic country farmhouse. A focus on raw, sustainable material is evident with much product coming from recycled/reclaimed local sources.
"This is my must “go to” and eat restaurant when visiting San Diego. Make your reservation now – it is that popular. Simply put, this is simple Italian food, cooked to perfection and it does not get much better than Cucina Urbana. Everything is prepared on site, fresh and delicious with panache in its presentation. Don’t miss the stuffed fried squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta or the burrata and roasted garlic. That comes with artisanal Italian Bread toasted over the grill. Yum!! Pizzas are exceptional – you can’t go wrong with any of them. The rabbit sausage and ricotta ravioli popped with flavors and the shrimp spaghetti puttanesca had the right amount of savory and spice. The goat cheese panna cotta with citrus and a blood orange granita was a perfect way to finish. What I really like is the large, affordable wine selection, especially Italian reds. Most restaurants really markup alcohol to increase profit margin, Cucina Urbana has a small ~approx $8-10 mark up and I really like being able to find an exceptional wine for a reasonable price. This is a great place to expand your wine knowledge. All the servers are knowledgeable of the menu, food preparation and quite helpful in guiding you through"

"The Penrose Room lived up to its reputation. Every detail was attended to and every morsel of food was absolutely stunning in its presentation, popping with wonderful tasty flavors. The wait staff was plentiful, helpful and attentive. They were always available while not being intrusive. The 4 man orchestra added to the overall experience and we enjoyed dancing between courses and after the meal. ...and the noise level was low, we could actually have a pleasant conversation easily. The Penrose Room offers 3, 4 or 7 course meals. We had the four course. ...and of course in this French inspired restaurant there are extras, from the amuse bouche and chocolates at the end. I had a delicious garden vegetable landscape of small vegetables, porcini mushrooms and hazelnuts. It was almost too pretty to eat. Roasted beets with chevre and puffed wild rice was amazing combination of crunch and savory. The Colorado lamb followed and it was tender, juicy and prepared perfectly. My wife had the 64 degree egg that she raved about as the best ever followed by the lobster entre. We had the wine pairings -- all were exceptional and our sommelier, knew all the wines and made exceptional choices for us. He made the night even more memorable by describing what we were drinking and why it worked with the food we had chosen. For most people this is a special occasion place because of the price. Overall, it was well worth it. Yes, the Penrose Room is a special place, with the highest quality food, the most caring service, an exceptional wine list and amazing views to the outside. No wonder they have so many prestigious awards. They deserve all of them and more. I can't imagine a trip to Colorado Springs and not stopping here. This is among the best restaurants in the world."

"Went here for Winter Restaurant Week. Glad we did. There were 3 selections for a starter, entre and dessert. The waitress kept trying to upsell us on the front or main menu. Must have told her 3 times -we were there for Restaurant week. The main menu is much more pricier. The food was exceptional, very tasty and presented in the right proportion. Nice décor. Since this was the most anticipated restaurant opening this year, I am glad we went -- certainly good enough to go back at full price."

"Plenty of parking in the Stockyards, attentive service, fast delivery of the drink and food order. The meal was good, but not great. The Vaqueros Plate was their signature dish, enchilada, tamale, chili con queso, a beef taco with rice and beans. Solid presentation -- but nothing stuck out as different than any of the others. The margarita was not good-- think it was the mix, as there was minimal lime taste. Oh well. Overall good value for the money and a nice stop in the stockyards."
