"We were looking for a spot to eat before a show. Tavira was close and convenient. On the website they advertise a $25 3 course menu. We had to ask about it when we got there. Food was well presented and tasty. Notable wine list."

Welcome to CUCINA urbana, a casual Italian American Neighborhood Kitchen and Wine Shop located in the heart of Banker's Hill. The menu highlights the cuisines of various Italian regions with a distinct California ‘farm to table’ flair for which the Urban Kitchen Group has become known. Chef Joe Magnanelli is excited to preview his Italian heritage and create dishes that are fresh, simple and seasonal. Items include: antipasti, artisan pizza, pasta and piatti. Enjoy wine by the glass or visit the Wine Spectator award-winning wine shop and select a bottle from over 100 selections at retail price ($8 corkage fee applies). The space features contemporary elements and vintage artifacts creating the feel of a modern Italian kitchen combined with the history and comfort of an old rustic country farmhouse. A focus on raw, sustainable material is evident with much product coming from recycled/reclaimed local sources.

"I am glad we ate here. The food was good to excellent. My wife thought the salmon was too salty. The main complaint -- the portions were huge. For a restaurant that touts itsself as French influenced --- the Texas sized portions were just too much -- too rich. The wine selection was exhaustive and the advice provided exceptional. Every time we left to go to the dance floor we got a new cloth napkin. It was a nice evening."

Designed by acclaimed architect Adam D. Tihany, Summit's contemporary design is inspired by the grandeur of Pike's Peak and provides a stunning counterpoint to the classic elegance of The Broadmoor. Wood, metal, glass, leather and fabrics are used throughout the dining room to evoke a modern, yet natural feel suited perfectly to Summit's bold American Brasserie menu and innovative wine and cocktail program.

It all starts with the finest American ingredients and produce found seasonally around the country, which is combined with classical cooking techniques. Whether it's Colorado corn in September, Nantucket Bay scallops in November, or heirloom tomatoes from the heartland in the summer, Summit's stellar menu of year-round favorites and ever-evolving seasonal selections finds strength in a vibrant nationwide network of top-shelf vendors that provide the kitchen with the best possible ingredients.
